DOJ SLIP 2010
Has anyone had their application status change yet? Or have an idea when that will happen? With offers expiring in the near future, I'd really like to know if I have a shot at this (selected Civil and Civil Rights).
Edit: I see on xoxo that some Honors applicants have been referred to components. Anyone know if they are on a slightly different timeline than us SLIP 2Ls?

I can't tell you about the status of applications, but I can tell you that NALP guidelines allow you to keep a single firm offer open until April pending a decision by a public interest organization. DOJ SLIP would count, I believe.

Re: DOJ SLIP 2010
does everyone get "referred to components" status eventually, or is that only for those that get selected?

(Quoted poster here) Man, you really gotta have good grades for this thing. I landed multiple V50's, but it looks like I don't have a prayer here.Anonymous User wrote:Mine hasn't moved....sigh....UT/UCLA/Vandy 25% 2ndary journal...

Re: DOJ SLIP 2010
My status hasn't moved (top 25%, MVBP), but notwithstanding the fact that a few seemingly very qualified people have had their status change, how do we know that the status change means anything at this stage? The OP seems to assume that it is meaningful, but that's all I've seen.Anonymous User wrote:does everyone get "referred to components" status eventually, or is that only for those that get selected?

Re: DOJ SLIP 2010
(I'm the first person to post a status change above.) I think if you look back at past threads here and on xoxo it seems that people who are referred tend to be more likely to receive an interview. But the status change doesn't appear to be sufficient or even necessary for eventually getting a SLIP offer.Anonymous User wrote:My status hasn't moved (top 25%, MVBP), but notwithstanding the fact that a few seemingly very qualified people have had their status change, how do we know that the status change means anything at this stage? FWIW, I'm also on LR, which I didn't mention earlier.

I hate to burst anyone's bubble, but mine also just changed, and I'm in the bottom half of my class at a T10. I am, however, pretty awesome.

I think referrals are more based on when you submitted your application than anything else.

Re: DOJ SLIP 2010
^Thats also unlikely true as my friend and I submitted it at the same time (late), and he isn't referred yet (he's also much higher in the class). It could do w/ the different components.

T50 10% LR transfer to ND/WUSTL/Illinois/Emory.
Was just referred to components. What does this mean? Is this a good sign?

Re: DOJ SLIP 2010
anyone know the ratio between "components" and interview?
My buddy at my old T50 school told me he already got selected with an offer in the civil rights division. I donno if he was just pulling my chain..... Do they interview before offering?
