NY interviews - send thank you emails or not?
And if so, do I send it to recruiting and interviewers?

I'd send it to just 1 of your interviewers, esp. if you got along particularly well w/ one of them and then ask them to pass along your gratitude to the rest of the people you met, including recruiters.

Not expected; won't help; can hurt.

People go both ways but I always do. I got an offer and I attribute it to my thank you email (I had to clarify some of the things I said during the interview)... but that's just my guess.

I always send a brief email thank-you. I don't think it's necessary, but I don't think it can hurt you so long as you take a tiny bit of time and make sure your note isn't misspelled or contains egregious errors.

Really? After a 30 minute + discussion someone was on the fence about you, but a thank you note changed their mind?topsome wrote:People go both ways but I always do. I think so, yes. The interviewer asked me some questions regarding my enthusiasm for the firm and I was wishy washy in person but much more emphatic in my thank you. She replied and said she'd take what I wrote in consideration. The next day, she personally called and gave me an offer.Renzo wrote:Really? I've also gotten no response to my thank you emails as well... no need to be sarcastic. Like I said, people go both ways it's by no means a silver bullet.

search function sucks now so this is a somewhat excusable thread.Anonymous User wrote:Jesus, this has been done like 50 million times. Use the search function, people!
to OP: Go with your gut. I find it polite and helps calm my nerves knowing I did everything I could. If you do do it, make sure you check for typos. If you can't edit a short paragraph, then either 1) don't send it or 2) don't be a lawyer.
