Transfer from T30 to T18.
16 lottery screening interviews, 2 callbacks. 1 rejection.
The other callback was now over 2 weeks ago . . . kissing goodbye to a solvent life.

No, I was off the waitlist at my T30. That makes it even worse. Transfer was largely a regional switch + better employment prospects - worth it - but 200k debt is terrifying.Kohinoor wrote:Did you give up money to make the switch?Anonymous User wrote:Transfer from T30 to T18.

Are you still waiting to hear back from like 10 screeners? Either way, the school switch seems to have had no downsides.Anonymous User wrote:No, I was off the waitlist at my T30. Re: Keeping up morale
Update: rejected from both call backs. Literally don't know what to do. Transferring was worth it because its really only a 20k difference in cost, and I'm where I want to practice. The problem is finding a job that will allow me to pay off any debt . . .Kohinoor wrote:Are you still waiting to hear back from like 10 screeners? Re: Keeping up morale
do people actually get callbacks from mass mailing at this point? i can see it happening maybe a month ago when firms weren't as busy with OCIs, but now, the recruiting department is probably pretty busy with the applications they have now. anyone with callback invitations and/or offers via mass mailing, care to share your experience?

I got a few CBs from doing it, yeah. I was doing it ~2 weeks ago, though. IDK if it would necessarily work now, but no hurt in trying.

Re: Keeping up morale
I hear what you're all saying, it's really hard to keep up morale. I've had only 1 callback so far and been rejected...still a few OCI interviews pending. Starting mass mailing to smaller firms that don't recruit at my school. I actually did a mock interview at my school's career services office to see if I was do anything wrong at screening interviews (still had 3 OCI interviews to go). Helpful to know what I can improve on, but knowing how I screwed up before also saps the morale...

Re: Keeping up morale
Yeah. I got a CB from mass mail a few days ago, but I sent that letter out weeks ago. For best results target smaller markets/smaller firms that may not have fully kicked into recruiting mode yet.Anonymous User wrote:Too late at this point--biglaw train is leaving the station.Anonymous User wrote:Mass mail. Re: Keeping up morale
All you need is one offer. But yeah, I've been on 2 of my callbacks and haven't heard a peep yet. I know that the first firm sometimes gives on-the-spot offers, so I am assuming this is a bad sign. And, I really, really, really like the second firm I interviewed with...the wait is killer.Anonymous User wrote:i got rejected 4 out of my 7 cbs.
It's just tough because you have to keep the morale up for the remaining callbacks, but all we can do is to focus on the next ones.

Nah, bro. Below median, here, CLS with 4 V100 offers.

E-mail, for sho. I targeted firms that didn't attend my school's OCI--that included some Vault and others.

Send out mass e-mails. I'm still getting CBs from having done this a week ago.

Re: Keeping up morale
Why is it that firms often take so long to respond after a callback? One of my callbacks was 4 weeks ago and the other 2 callbacks were 2 weeks ago, but I have no responses yet. The partners must have regular meetings. How long does it take to make a decision?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
