I just think it would change the dynamic at Schulte a bit. I would think they would probably need less associates. A big chunk of junior associate work (it seems) is in the start-up area, i.e. drafting offering docs, partnership agreements, prospecti. Well, no. Not to bore you with the details, but the fixed-cost of compliance coming from the Dodd-Frank bill (it basically lowered the bar for private funds that will have to register with the SEC) will increase the barriers to entry and potentially shutter some smaller funds. Sarbox did something similar with IPOs about ten years ago. Thus, the capital that would have potentially flowed to these new funds may instead flow to already established funds, who likely have relationships with partners.
