School range: CCN
Market(s): NYC
Approx. class rank: transfer top 1%, mid-tier one
Law review: LR invitation at 1L school; secondary at my CCN
Screening Interviews: 26
Mass mails: 0
Callbacks received: 6 (entirely based on bidding strategy -- I engaged in risk arbitrage and bid 13 in one discreet style, and placed 13 bids in a completely different style of firm, practice area strength, fit with some substantial aspect of my background, and selectivity range. All 6 callbacks came entirely from one of the control groups.)
Callbacks accepted: 2 (v5 and v15)
Offers w/vault ranges: got v15 offer from my dream firm the day after callback. Withdrew from everywhere else. Did callback at v5 and couldn't see myself there longterm. I sincerely hope to be a lifer at my v15 (as naive as that may sound), and just couldn't see that reasonably happening at the v5.

Oh, and transferring was the best decision I have ever made in my life. Pretty sure I wouldn't have gotten my dream job if I didn't transfer. I apparently had the right stuff to get hired, but perhaps the CCN name or just the access to the interview that transferring allowed (neither of these firms participate in my 1L school's OCI) certainly was instrumental in sealing the deal. Just my anecdotal .02 for potential transfer students contemplating the move.

School range: T20

Mass mails: 0

Most likely accepting V20 firm unless callbacks with 2 other V20 firms next week result in offers - then it will be a tough, tough choice...

If you're curious, I'd be happy to PM you (one of them doesn't extend many offers, so I don't want to out myself).

This is me. The results are actually "final" now - I accepted my offer and got one ding from callbacks. Withdrawing from consideration at the other two now.

This thread is absolutely worthless -- and probably actually detrimental -- unless peoples' cycles are completely over (i.e., you've heard back definitively on all CBs).

I thought the same thing at first, but I'm hoping he hasn't been dinged by those 8 yet. Otherwise, WTF?!

This is why you schedule ALL your callbacks until you receive an offer.

Is it even real? Didn't Boalt just finish their OCI two weeks ago (or less)? I'd think it's too little time to have received rejections from every CB. Seems like an MS EE 'well above median' at Boalt's gonna end with an offer.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
