Interviewing with someone from your transfer school

Transfer student here. Have already met with some people during my callbacks from my original transfer school and have some more coming up. This has been somewhat awkward to talk about and I was wondering if anyone had any advice so I don't ruffle any feathers.

Obviously, I am not saying anything at all negative about the former school (don't really have much negative things to say anyways) but the jump was from T2 to t14 and was 100% the right decision. Whats the play here?

I never understood why anyone would think this is awkward.

I don't understand how you can not see that it's awkward.

OP: is there a big geography difference you could chalk it up to?

Same here. "Ummm, I didn't think you alma mater was a good enough school for someone like me"

But anyways, no, the original school is in the market I want to practice and where the firm is...transfer school is not.

What's awkward? Every lawyer knows that where you go to school matters a lot, and that your options coming out of a TTT are going to be way worse than a t14. I'm a transfer, and this was never difficult to explain during my OCI interviews. Everyone nodded their head and agreed.

Same here in regards to oci screening. However, my school was not a TTT and were any of these dudes that nodded and agreed graduates of the school you transferred FROM? That's the issue here, not your standard why did you transfer

Any chance you want to be a litigator? Then maybe you could blame it on clerkship chances; frame it as not a problem with the school, but a problem with those narrow-minded judges who don't look at the school.
