I figured with a class size of about 9, casting about to see if anyone has an offer yet would probably be futile.

OP here. I got an offer after the holiday weekend! Super exciting since I thought the whole spiel about "don't worry if you don't hear before the holiday" was just a way to keep me from bugging the firm while the rejection letter was in the mail.
Anyway, the moral is that when recruitment says it might take longer than a week, it really might take longer than a week, and you shouldn't give up hope.
