Has anyone heard anything from Goodwin lately (this week or end of last)? For anyone with recent offers or dings, I'd really appreciate it if you could post the approximate date of your CB and when/ how you heard-- this wait is killing me!

Thanks all!

I'm sorry to hear that. Do you mind sharing whether you got the news via snail mail or email? Thanks, and good luck with the rest of your search!

You'll probably hear from GP soon if you haven't - they finished with all their callbacks last Friday.

Oh well, I guess those of us who were there last week can experiment with the theory on whether you are at a disadvantage to CB so late in September.

They have fewer than half the spots filled at this point. Not to worry.

To user who posted this how do you know? I'm still waiting and assumed the worst after hearing of their offer dinner last night.

So-- what if you CB'd approx. 2 weeks ago, and did not receive an invite to the offer dinner (i.e. no offer yet) but have also not yet been rejected? Hold pile? I don't know whether to feel good about technically still being "alive" or heartbroken because of no dinner invite.

I'd also be very interested to hear how the above user knows about what portion of the SA class is filled...I had hope when I saw that.

What info do the two of you above have about this offer dinner?

I think proper protocol call is to just show up to the dinner. Your invite must have gotten lost in the mail.

There will be multiple offer dinners.

How was the Choate offer dinner? I had to miss it it, but am interested in how many people they brought in to fill 12-15 spots.

There were about 20 offerees there, but I'm sure they offered close to 30.

Wow--that seems like a lot, considering that last year firms were extending only the exact # of offers they planned to absorb. I realize that last year was a (terrible) outlier, but still, 2:1 seems high!

Does Choate give the sense that they intend to make end of the summer offers to all summer associates? I wonder what they will do if over-subscribed.

I think only 4 people took the offer so far. Most people who got Choate offers are likely also sitting on Goodwin/Wilmer, etc. offers. So even if they offered like 30, I bet not close to that will accept.

The dinner was fantastic - I really like the firm. Funny people, everyone seemed to know each other, people worked long hours, but it didn't seem as insane as other places. All in all, quality firm -but you also have to take into account that this even was crafted to sell the firm to people.

The legal recruiter did tell me that by canceling last year's summer class, they would no longer have any future deferrals.

Are other law firms still having to defer?
