About 1.5 weeks between CB and offer. Thanks and good luck to you, too!

Interesting. Sweetspot between offers and rejections seems to be in a tight band between 1.5 and two weeks?

Anything from Mintz Levin? It's been over a month. This is killing me, man.

Did you do a CB a month ago, or did you have a screening interview a month ago?

I'm not the original Mintz Levin poster, but I completed my CB there within the last week. They told me it would be quite a while before I heard anything, especially given the small class size (6?) and that they have many CBs left to complete. I wouldn't hold my breath for them for another couple weeks. Sorry not to diffuse some of your anxiety...

A little info.

I received an offer from one of the bigger firms in the past week. (WH, Ropes, Goodwin)
Also received rejections from Choate and foley hoag.
I was recently told Mintz's hiring committee would be meeting for the first time this week, but not to expect anything because they are going to have a large hold pile due to the small size of the class.

Isn't two weeks where you start getting worried?

I have heard that rejections come a lot quicker than offers most times

So I'm wondering if anyone has gotten an offer from any Boston firms with small class sizes yet? Post cb rejections (mail or email)? I haven't heard anything since my cbs and its been awhile so I'm starting to wonder whether I should just throw in the towel.

ie NP, Skadden etc etc.

Someone at my school told me that NP is doing a bunch of callbacks in the next week so they wont likely make offers until after. Who knows though, because it's hearsay

I wonder how many CBs Skadden did. Did anyone who did a CB ask when they are supposed to make first round offers?

I'm not really sure... I mean no matter what for a target class of ~3 it seems like they'll make 6-7 offers so even 15 cbs seems pretty high....

For those freaking out, keep in mind that there are lots of Harvard kids who haven't done any callbacks yet. And with such a huge class, that's bound to keep many firms, especially those with small class sizes, waiting to see the overall candidate pool they get.

Thanks - Now that I am aware that their are legions of Harvard kids waiting in the wings to take my job away, I am alot less freaked out.

If you feel like obsessing, you can probably find the class breakdowns of the SA classes of a given firm and see how Harvard obsessed they are. Might make you feel better, might shatter your mind.

For what it's worth, partners have told me that many Boston firms are hesitant to make offers to Harvard kids because they are worried the Harvard kid won't accept. Then, the firm will be stuck with a frozen offer until the Harvard kid turns it down for something better
