Have you considered politics, male modeling?

Boalt's OCI just started this Monday, whereas Columbia and NYU (from what I've heard) started earlier. Also, a lot of CA people self-select to stay in CA. I know the people who wanted NY have gotten callbacks and even offers so far from NY.
NYU and Michigan started this week too. We'll get a much better idea by tomorrow afternoon/next Monday of what's going on with NYC.

Sweet.
TBF, this is about what you should have expected.
Thanks for your valuable input.

It IS valuable input for any 0Ls reading. The economy has sucked for a while, and no one who went to a T50 in 2009 should have expected anything from OCI no matter what their grades were.

Politics, yes. Male modeling, no.

I look good enough that people like me, but not so good that I'm distracting or people think I'm dumb.

Patently untrue. I have multiple friends on LR with multiple call backs.

That doesn't refute what I said. From what I've heard about OCI at a T50 last year, zero callbacks was definitely the most common situation, even for people on LR.

so far great balls of silence

still waiting on 18 firms

0 CB from OCI itself, 5 CB from regional programs and mailings. 3 DC, 2 NY.

median T14

T30, slightly above top third, no journal, work experience: 20 interviews, 4 callbacks, 1 rejection. Mostly Chicago biglaw.

I'm pretty damn surprised at how well OCI has worked out so far.

What you said was that no one, regardless of grades, should expect anything out of oci.

I believe what I said refutes that. That being said, I don't disagree with you, never said I didn't expect the situation I am in, and am not interested in arguing.

Your point doesn't refute his. If a lot of people on LR strike out, then you really shouldn't *expect* something out of OCI, even if some people get lucky and get something.

The top 1-5 people have their pick of firms, and would be justified to expect something out of OCI in this and any economy. That is what I meant to insinuate, nothing more. That is obviously the exception and not the rule, but it is silly to say that the #1 or #2 student at a T50 shouldn't expect anything out of OCI.

Not only CLS and NYU but HYS too.

Over the moon: 13 CBs out of 20 so far, all in NYC. All but 2 are V25.

California was very tough this year, coming out of CLS without high grades. Very lucky to have what I did get in terms of callbacks, though I'm really worried about offers... probably should have slotted some NYC firms in the top third of my bid list and still had plenty of quality shots at California. Certainly something for next year's class to think about doing (and obviously don't count on OCS to suggest anything practically useful like that).

School ranked in the 30s. Between top quarter and top 20%, + secondary journal. Eleven screening interviews, but I am not expecting any callbacks. I know I am an unconventional candidate, and classmates of my rank may be expected to do better. Pre-ITE, we usually placed top third out to 40%.

So far, three dings and silence from the rest.

pretty satisfied but still worried i'll ultimately strike out and not get an offer:
T30, top 20% LR. 6 cb, 5 dings, waiting on 5 more. im slightly older though, and my 3-year WE has definitely been a topic of interest for every interviewer.

DC murdered me. Top 10%-20% at CLS with 2 DC callbacks: one V10, one V50-100. For reference, I had approximately 10 DC interviews.

not exactly satisfied. obviously have yet to hear back from a lot of places, but I think that means more likely than not it's a ding for most of them.

T14, non-LR but quite good grades. So far three callbacks. One is at the top firm in a secondary city I have ties to, and the others are in strong offices in DC. I had 9 interviews in DC, and 10 in Chicago, where I also have strong ties. I have so far received no callbacks in Chicago and am flabbergasted at that result. I have absolutely no ties to DC. I have visited it three times in my entire life, and two of those can best be described as drinking excursions.

Similar situation here. Top 40% at T10, non-LR. Have had 5 dings and 1 CB. The one CB is in DC. I will have family in DC very shortly, but I'm not from there or anything. No CBs in Chicago yet...

NU, Top 25%, Strong Secondary Journal, 5+ Years of Work Experience. 20 On Campus Interviews. 14 Callbacks. 3 Offers (to date). I targeted NYC and Texas.

While all of the callbacks are with V100 firms, I bid rather conservatively and am therefore somewhat discouraged.

Congrats. I have a couple of other friends at NU who are EEs are are collecting callback offers (sad to see you go ... I knew there had to be some reason that I hadn't seen you around). Amongst my friends, it really does seem to be feast or famine. I know a lot of people with 0 or 1 and a lot of people with 10+ callbacks.
