Once we have an offer is it ok to call recruiting to ask how many summers got offers and expectations on offer ratios for next summer? That is, ask the important questions that you don't ask at a CB.

I don't understand how any of this is helpful. How does knowing that some one got a call back help you? Why does it matter who the interviewer was?

Seriously, someone explain this to me!

It doesn't help, per se. It simply gives a bit of insight as to whether you are going to get an offer. If you had the same interviewer and interviewed around the same time and other people have heard, there's a good chance you are getting a snail mail ding. So it's about price of mind, not increasing your chances.

Can you ever really gain peace of mind from that second hand info until you either get the rejection or get a callback though? I've gotten a callback weeks after everyone else got one...

I really think the only way to be sane throughout this whole OCI thing is to be yourself and just not care about the results. I always feel like firms that rejected me did us both a favor...I mean if a firm only cares about grades and not individuals then I don't want to be there, and if the interviewer didn't like me then I probably don't fit at that particular organization. That's just me though...

S&C offer. Via phone. 4 days after CB. For those of you familiar with the process, you can imagine the last 4 days have been somewhat... tense.

Sorry to ask, but mind telling me what day of the week? I had my CB last week, but they told me their hiring committee only meets on Thursdays and I didn't get an offer last Thursday...

Mine was on a Wednesday, and I heard two Mondays later.
