OCS said that last EIP the avg number of CB's was 5 and and the number of offers was 2, when you factor in the law review types and those with lots of H's I'm thinking the avg numbers are 3 CB's and 1.5 offers.....what do you guys think?

Median numbers would be more helpful for that reason.

Yeah i know for a fact that most LR types and people with lots of H's were getting 15 cb's while the median 3L's i talked too said they avg around 3 cb's and 1 offer on the plus side some people that struck out at OCI didn't have trouble getting 100k firm jobs outside of EIP at lesser firms according to the OCS lady i spoke too so I guess Harvard helps you out there...

I think there's a good chance that students will get more callbacks and offers this year as opposed to last because firms will be increasing their summer associate class size.

At the same time, there are people at HLS who didn't have great grades but actually have good personalities and work experience and had just as many callbacks and more offers. I wouldn't worry.

You also have to factor in the number of super weird/socially awkward kids who get less callbacks than they should based on grades/resume

Past work experience was definitely a plus last year with regards to getting callbacks, even in non-urm 1L hiring it was a factor.

By my count 417 people got firm jobs last year based on the Who Worked Where sheet and only 380 of those came from EIP judging from the EPIC amount of brown nosing at the White & Case reception I attended HLSers are well aware that 10-20% of us are going to strike out.

Because having Harvard on the resume doesn't outweigh the fact that some people are below average in their class or in the bottom quarter. Being at HLS doesn't automatically make you a great lawyer. True, the competition is more intense and so the bottom quarter at HLS might be median at lower-ranked schools, but firms don't seem to care about that. They want people who are average or above within their peer group -- whether that be a random T14 or Harvard. Yale may be an exception, but even then it may be based on the strength of the resume (past WE, scholarly achievements) that Yale admissions selects for, rather than the school itself.

does anyone know what percentage of HLS students got jobs last year through EIP?

I know at CLS it was around 70%. I'm assuming HLS would be higher?
