Not a peep out of Schulte. Since they only take like 20 summers total from all schools and there were 30 or more CLS kids at the dinner last night, it's pretty safe to say that the offer rate for CLS kids is not going to be super high. I'm expecting a mail ding in a couple days.Anonymous User wrote:Any updates on Schulte? Also, anybody heard from Jones Day yet? The JD wait for me is ~two weeks now.

unless they want more CLS people; their yield rate last year was 1/13.Anonymous User wrote:Not a peep out of Schulte. Yep. At my CB the recruiter told me they're hoping to get more CLS kids than last year. So they may give a lot more offers.Anonymous User wrote:unless they want more CLS people; their yield rate last year was 1/13.Anonymous User wrote:Not a peep out of Schulte. They are definitely changing strategy from last year. I wouldn't be surprised to see 20 CLS offers.Anonymous User wrote:Yep. Could be, I had no idea their yield rate was that low.Anonymous User wrote:Yep. At my CB the recruiter told me they're hoping to get more CLS kids than last year. Re: CLS EIP Offers 2010
Forgive me for being an idiot, but I'm not sure exactly what "yield rate" means. According to the spreadsheet we got (unless I wrote the #'s down wrong), last year 18 CLS students took callbacks with Schulte, and Schulte offered summer associate positions to 13 of those 18. Did I mix something up?Anonymous User wrote:Could be, I had no idea their yield rate was that low.Anonymous User wrote:Yep. Only one student accepted an offer. With that yield rate, they'd need to make 39 offers just to get 3 CLS students.

I was hoping that hiring decisions had been made before the dinner and that we'll get some news today, but it's looking like last night was another informal callback. Oops.

A candidate dropped the S-bomb in our hospitality suite at EIP/EIW. Since when did people think this was acceptable?

If the interviewing party drops it, fine. The gate is open.

Student was otherwise sociable, very interesting, obviously intelligent. Just interesting that he/she dropped the S-bomb. Isn't a deal-breaker for me, since I curse god knows how much. But it might be a deal-breaker in other suites or with other interviewers. Rule of thumb: Don't do that shit unless the person you're talking to does it first, and even then never up the person. For example, if he starts dropping shit, you can drop shit too, but not the f word.Anonymous User wrote:What firm??

A very good move.I don't think using profanity is appropriate, even if the interviewer uses it. I've had multiple interviewers use it, and, though I've been tempted, I never partook myself.

It was none of those firms. The reason I don't want to name the firm is that I am unsure if I was the ONLY offer from CLS today. If so, and they read the thread, it'd be pretty obvious who I am. That's all.

I'm just wondering if it was some law review type who didn't give a sh*t.

Oh no, the person wasn't arrogant or flippant or blasé or anything. The "shit" flowed nicely in the convo. Didn't stick out like a sore thumb. It was just the sort of thing where like five minutes after the fact, I was like "that person did say "shit," right? Hope he's not doing this with other people."Anonymous User wrote:Sh*t, I wish I had the balls.Anonymous User wrote:^ this guy: oh shit, was that me?Anonymous User wrote:What firm??
