I'm top 25%, barely, no journal at all

Your interviewing skills must be pretty baller to have a 50% success rate like that. I can only hope I end up in a similar position (top 20% no journal from BC).

i must echo this poster...congrats

do you think it is your interviewing skills that helped with CBs? or were you able to just secure interviews with firms that fit your profile and things happened to work out

Same anon poster again, yea I was just very relaxed in the interviews, had a great time just talking with the interviewers and joking around. They def pick up on confidence.

Hey guys, if you think you're being subtle/anonymous by putting interviewer initials, you're not. It's not like there are so many interviewers per firm that there are initial repeats...

I do it so the interviewer's full name is not plastered all over the internet. Just trying to be a bit courteous. What's your problem with it?

Are there people that have not heard either a ding or CB from some of the firms that are reported to have made cbs/dings to some people??

I can't help but notice that things seem to be going better for students at the other NYC schools. Dinged at Kaye Scholer. Haven't heard from any of the others (including a few on that list)...

What's this generally mean? We're borderline?

for me, i think it means a rejection letter is on its way home. i'm pretty upset, i liked all three of those firms and actually thought the interviews went well.

i don't think anyone mentioned email dings for the firms i was referring to, but there's been callbacks. that's why i'm guessing snail mail rejections for me.

So how is everybody doing? I am a 3L with no bites. Last year I was top 1/3, secondary journal, 6 interviews, 2 call backs, no offers. I resume spammed firms of all sizes for an SA gig to no avail. I worked my butt off and kept my grades up for 3L OCI but thus far, nada. This sucks :(

hang in there! even if you don't get biglaw, there are so many opportunities out there. i have a few cbs but my hopes aren't high, just being realistic. i got dinged by a firm that i've loved since last year and it stings, especially since i thought the interview went really well. guess i perceived what i wanted to.

Also a 3L, transfer (so no 1L grades and never got to apply to OCI last year), top 10%, engineering degree, secondary journal and patent bar. Did one EIW interview (with the one patent firm interviewing 3L's) and still waiting. Has anyone heard anything from Fitzpatrick? Does anyone know if someone is more or less likely to get a callback off a 3L interview? I would like to think more likely to get selected for a callback, since there were only 4 3L interview slots or so, but at the same time, I hear firms don't really want 3L's right now.

3L OCI was non-existent last year. It is on life support this year, as you stated. It is too bad because I know plenty of 3Ls with nothing. You sound like you have an interesting background. Do you have another career you can fall back on if the law thing doesn't pan out?

I'm the anon 3L from above - if things don't pan out in OCI, I can probably work in the firm I spent the summer with, but there are a bunch of reasons I would want to work at a bigger place. I found my jobs both of the last summers outside of the law school OCI programs, and I'm sure I could find something this year. Fitzpatrick remains my first choice though.
