tell me about Latham...
OK, seriously, can someone talk about Latham in a balanced, honest way? Had my interview yesterday and the associate I met with was by far the coolest, most normal person I've met through the process so far. I know they've had troubles but so has everyone (someone pointed out that Davis Polk's NALP associates numbers are identical for 2008-9 and 2009-10 despite absorbing 100 new associates, so I feel like everyone's done layoffs in some form).
Serious replies only please, no Bob Dell killing babies or whatever. Just trying to figure things out a little. Thanks.

"Plenty" does not equal "100" in 2009. That's quite a bit of stealth layoffsNYAssociate wrote:Keep in mind that, in any economy, Davis Polk associates could essentially write their own tickets. Though there were certainly stealth layoffs, there is plenty of natural attrition.(someone pointed out that Davis Polk's NALP associates numbers are identical for 2008-9 and 2009-10 despite absorbing 100 new associates, so I feel like everyone's done layoffs in some form).

Open honest layoffs + 6 months severance is much better than stealth, IMHOAnonymous User wrote:"Plenty" does not equal "100" in 2009. Conversely, I consider the interview I had with Latham to by my most awkward/worst. In the individual's defense, it was the last interview of the day, but still, no reason to have the television on in the hotel room.Anonymous User wrote:OK, seriously, can someone talk about Latham in a balanced, honest way?
