callback - offer ratio question

Postby Anonymous User » Mon Aug 16, 2010 7:19 pm

cooley
kirkland
jones day
baker botts
alston bird
morgan lewis
orrick
goodwin procter
townsend & townsend & crew
knobbe martens
troutman sanders

Does any of these firms have a reputation for a good callback-offer ratio? Conversely, does any of them give out callbacks liberally, meaning its not necessarily a good chance for an offer? On a related note, does the response vary by office, or do firms have uniform "callback" giving patterns across offices.

Lastly, if your answer changes for IP hiring, that would be helpful too - although I highly doubt callback/offer stats exist for IP specifically.

If you don't mind me asking, what region are those callbacks in?

Kirkland, Jones Day, and Goodwin Procter. Why don't you want to disclose them? You're posting anonymously.

My handle is a DEAD giveaway of what school I went to - which is not a very common undergrad school for law students. Also, I don't want my interviewers to ever find out who else I'm interviewing with (maybe this is unnecessary worry/irrational).

The entirety of my list is contained in [Bay area, DC, NYC].

ohhh, sorry - thought you were asking why I'm posting anonymously.

The reason is that the specific offices are very early in callback season - and some of those offices are ONLY hiring in one particular department.

I dunno, just paranoid!

Haha, gotcha. Thanks for providing the info - I apologize if I sounded snarky. Good luck on your callbacks!

Yeah, the point wasn't to share callback info - point was to figure out if any of them gives callbacks liberally - so I can get an idea of how much more effort I need to put into my job search.

can someone please post the TLS thread with stats @ callback->offer?
I'm trying to use the search thing - but when I hit "search" it doesn't do anything, maybe my browser is outta whack.
