People did have a harder time getting callbacks from those cities than NYC. But most people I know who bid on those cities have an offer or are still in the process of doing callbacks. That's not to say there aren't people who have 2 or fewer callbacks and may end up with no offer.Anonymous User wrote:
Also, does anybody have a read on whether or not people at YLS are getting shut out of DC, SF, or Chicago this year? It seems to be a common theme at other schools.

Lol well there is definitely some truth to the "waitlist" rumors. Just received a letter from Skadden NY saying they're still reviewing my application due to a high number of applications and that I can call if I have any questions.

Re: Yale FIP
i think in general these dinners are pretty fancy. if you're a guy, probably best to go with a button-up shirt and jacket, no tie. for ladies, something similar. always better to have a jacket you can take off than to feel underdressed!
on the topic of dinners, is/was there a davis polk dinner? if so, when is/was it? thanks!

Congratulations! I met with Michael Reynolds for my screening interview and he was awesome - if the people there are like him, then I imagine it's a nice place to work.Anonymous User wrote:dbt wrote:Haha thanks. I still like STB better, though. I really loved everything about the place.

Jenner. Probably going to finalize the decision end of the week. It seems that Covington is getting criticism over the clerkship policy from both judges and students, and while I really liked both firms, that's the tie-breaker.Anonymous User wrote:So which way are you leaning? Re: Yale FIP
Met a few Covington attorneys at a reception this past summer. Did not get along well with any of them; got a pretty bad vibe overall. One associate was completely wasted and wasn't much help. The other was very reticent, uptight, and uber-feministic (would only talk to women; gave me quite the dirty look when I broke into her circle of womanhood). A third was extremely arrogant and full of herself. One of the partners appeared very fratty and was interested primarily in talking to people who were attending his alma mater. Finally, one of the summers was almost as drunk as the wasted associate and spoke with a sinister/psychotic grin while looking at any object but a person's eyes. It was quite the experience.dbt wrote:Jenner. Probably going to finalize the decision end of the week.
