What sorts of things are people looking at in case we get the dreaded question: "Why do you want to work here?"
Most of my notes include:
Things to pad the interviewer's ego: "reputation as one of the top firms for high-stakes litigation"
Something about their clients: "represent many of the top biotech companies"
Something about the office: "founding office, office in a good area for certain types of business..."
Then I just note the interviewer's practice area, job title, year of graduation, notable past experience, and any experience that matches my interests.
What do you guys think? Note specific cases/deals? Notes about the firm's internal structure? Training programs/summer program? Specific leading partners?
