Day 1 is over, How did everyone feel it went?

Personally, I had 3 interviews. I thought they all went pretty well. Surprised not as many people took advantage of the hospitality suites.

I had two interviews, and I feel happy with how they went.

I also found out I have an offer today, so it takes the pressure off, especially for someone in P-ville. (IP person)

What hospitality suites? Sidley and Crowell? Those are the only two ones I found - I've already been dinged by Crowell - so no point going there - I stopped by Sidley, but there were no attorneys there, just a few students.

On an unrelated note, I think its awesome that Hotel Durant is THIS close to Boalt Hall, makes it very very convenient.

It is not impossible. In fact, biglaw is a serious reality for people with all Ps who take the initiative to interview outside of OCIP. I'd say PM me for specifics, but I am remaining anonymous. :D
Are these people IP/LR? Seems unlikely to get an offer without at least IP or LR.
Not IP people. I know some are LR, but not sure about the others.

Sidley callbacks have begun. I haven't gotten one, but I know someone who did.

Did people get fewer interviews for phase 2? I only got 8...I'm happy with the ones I got but I'm not sure if my bidding strategy was worse or if it's just b/c there were fewer employers

Sidley LA. If you look on nuts and boalts, all the info is in the callback thread there.

Also, Crowell & Moring SF, Wilson Sonsini Palo Alto, and MoFo SF, as well as a bunch of random pre-OCIP callbacks.

How are the people with all Ps doing?

To the ones above with callbacks, lots of Hs?

^ this.

Also, what's been the turnaround? The callbacks I have received have come insanely fast (< 24 hours). Kind of makes me loose confidence in my offer prospects, because it seems like a one-person decision if its that fast.

3 H/3 P + LR + WE = 1 callback + 1 ding + lots of waiting to hear from firms who have called back others already.

Well this will kind of out me but whatever: t4 transfer, top 3% at old school, no significant WE, joined a secondary journal, not a social retard, and not impressive UG.

Why do you think some transfer students are doing really well and others less so?

Transfer here also. T2 Top 3%. I'm pretty outgoing and personable. No call backs yet. Have you heard of any transfers getting call backs yet? From what I've heard, none have.

They probably come from schools interviewers have heard of?

It is still early so all hope is far from being lost. In fact, I am predicting a callback to come in tomorrow (staying positive). However, one interviewer straight up told me it would be a miracle to get me past the hiring committee because of my old school. Such is life.

Just saw new post: I know of a few transfers with callbacks

I was misreading this earlier post. I thought they were talking about callbacks. Obviously they must have been talking about interviews.
