If your journal wasn't law review you'll be stuck in shitlaw, if you can even get that. Maybe your admissions office wants to hire you for a year?

I honestly have no idea what it takes to get in at Wachtell. I'm just wondering if I should get my hopes up. ITE, I'm not taking anything for granted.

Thanks. Sorry for the troll-ish post. I'm honestly humbled to be in this position, but I'd like to know my realistic odds of success going into OCI.mallard wrote:You should definitely bid on Wachtell.Anonymous User wrote:I honestly have no idea what it takes to get in at Wachtell. Why would it be a troll? He's asking if to bid Wachtell. Seems reasonable.westbayguy wrote:Overachieving HLS troll.

Re: Just got my grades. Where to bid?
Wachtell probably takes a finance background / WE. They aren't grade + LR prestige whores. First and perhaps most importantly, survey says they care about you having a finance background. Maybe it's not a deal breaker or a deal maker, but that's the word on the street I've picked up. They care about your law school, about you having great (but not perfect) grades, and about you actually being capable of surviving working at Wachtell for more than about a week. It's not like they only take people who managed to get 9 Hs in their 8 classes, that's not the way they exert their 'selectivity'.

Its not V10, but it is a highly selective firm:

Although I doubt they recruit from a TTT like Harvard. Yale or bust.

And what survey are you referring to?

Re: Just got my grades. Where to bid?
It's good, but I don't know if it will be enough w/o work experience. Still, you should absolutely bid and see if they bite. Even if you had a perfect background they might not, and the decision to bid should be a big 'yes' decided long ago.Anonymous User wrote:OP here. I have a finance and economics UG degree. 'survey says' was just a turn of phrase.

Seems to me he's just looking tfor pepople to tell him how great he and HLS are and that he has no problems. But I suppose I could be wrong.

To be fair, there's a difference between being a troll and being an HLS student.westbayguy wrote:Kohinoor wrote:Why would it be a troll? He's asking if to bid Wachtell. Seems reasonable.westbayguy wrote:Overachieving HLS troll.
