Working Full Time While Studying for The Bar Exam

Post by Anonymous User » Fri May 14, 2010 7:35 pm

It looks like I may have to work full time while studying for the bar exam. For anyone that has done this and passed on their first try, I would appreciate any advice or insight you may have.

Not working isn't an option for me, and I will have to do 40 hours most weeks in order to cover expenses. I may be able to get a reduced schedule for the 2 weeks before the exam but that's it.

I will be studying at home with audio lectures on my Ipod and a full load of bar exam course books. I'm not going lecture classes.

Probably can't get a bar loan, but I have applied for one with the only company that says I might be eligible for one. Won't hear back about whether or not I got approved or for at least another week.

My advice is second-hand from a friend who worked full-time. A lot depends on the bar you're taking. If it's a high pass rate and you're a good test taker, it's totally doable. A lot depends on your individual learning style, retention, and test taking abilities.

He said it was very necessary to take the last two weeks to just study.
