Will future employers contact my current boss?

Post by Pankun » Mon May 03, 2010 1:47 pm

Hi,

I will be a 1L for the upcoming school year, and I was wondering if, during OCI, employers will contact or ask for a recommendation letter from my current boss? I've been working at a company for 2 years now, and now that I'm about to leave, I'm wondering if I should try to butter-up my current boss.

Thanks!

No.

(At least, not usually. I mean it couldn't hurt to have a rec on file for some job hunting, but at least during the OCI process most firms get so much first hand contact with you that my impression isn't doesn't really come up).
