How much is bringing in new business a part of your job as a 1st - 3rd year associate in BigLaw? Do you actively go and prospect for new business? Is there pressure? I do this stuff in my career now and it's not too much fun.

I would assume during 4-5th year, or even above when you want to start showing are partner material. On the other hand, if you know that they arent considering you for partner there, but you have a potential client, take that to another firm and ask for partnerKobe_Teeth wrote:When does it become something to worry about?

Partners can give you a % of the income from that partner when you make partner.
