How to maximize your potential on the LSAT Forum

Many years ago TLS held a content competition. The competition is no longer active, but this forum keeps going.

How to maximize your potential on the LSAT

Post by Albatross » Tue Jul 20, 2010 5:03 pm

One of the most important forums on TLS is the forum dedicated to those studying for the LSAT. This test, along with other factors determines where you will be going to law school. Many readers on TLS have the potential to score great on the LSAT, but I have heard many people complain about not knowing where to start, what to do next, or how to pace themselves. I have devised a very comprehensive 20 week LSAT study schedule for those who want to maximize their scores on game day.

My schedule is not for the faint of heart, though it can be changed in order to suit your personal needs/goals. I would recommend this schedule to anyone who has enough to time to follow it. By the time you have finished my study schedule, you will have seen, and answered every single released LSAT question that LSAC provides.

The schedule is in the form of an Excel Document for you to print out and keep track of your work. I have done this because the LSAT is not a computer based test, as most of you know. I think this works best if you print out the schedule and put it in a thick binder. In this binder, you will store everything you need to study for the test.

You will notice that I don't give pointers for each section. This is because I think that everyone needs to develop their own style of test taking that fits you best. Whether that be underling/highlighting during RC or no, making detailed charts or not for LG, or reading the stimulus/question stem first for LR. Everybody thinks differently, and you will develop a style that suits you best throughout the duration of this schedule.

What you need
Powerscore's Logic Games Bible
PrepTests 1-60
My study schedule (I have copied and pasted it at the bottom of this post. I can't figure out how to post .xls documents)
A big fucking binder

What to do?
1. Work through each week as the document says
2. Highlight anything that gives you trouble
3. Go back and review highlighted material you finish the week's material
4. Record all of your scores and any other notes on the document
5. Ace the LSAT

Let me know if you have any questions.

Sorry if I missed it, but how many hrs/day do you suggest to complete this schedule?

As many as it takes. Probably 10-15 hours for the first few weeks and then 15+ as you progress. Especially during PT weeks. You just need to cover the material long enough to grasp everything. That will vary person to person.

How to maximize your potential on the LSAT

Post by BeJimmiebum » Mon Sep 23, 2019 5:27 am

Do we have to put it on the pictures itself? I mean, I am having a hard time having the words show because of all the colors. If we make it Opaque will that effect our chances of winning?
