I vote Wedge.

Any objections?

Green - Torts
Linder - Contracts
Liebig - LAWR

I've heard nothing of Green. I did hear that Linder is incredibly boring but his test isn't too difficult. Liebig, on the other hand, is very lively and nice. I was actually hoping to get him, but oh well...

Saweet! I noticed our Property professor wrote the book, secondary book and hornbook for our class. I can't decide if that is a good or bad thing.

That is a very good thing! The supplement and the horn book will be written from your professor's point of view. BUY THEM!

Awwww.....all of you are getting your packets!? Where's mine already!? I want to know all about my hornbooks and professors!

As for the meet-up I vote anytime after the 12th and the Wedge sounds fine to me. I had the pizza there when I went apartment hunting..not bad at all.

I think I have the same section (or at least the same teachers), section one?

Section 9?

Also, I'll answer on behalf of isustudent. Here is the list of books for each class and professor. It even has the prices. I, myself, will be checking out Amazon.com

Haha, well i've done some quick research on our professors... Kurtz (property) and Bohannan (torts) both seem to be great. Burton (contracts) gets mixed reviews but has an interesting background. Couldn't find much on the LAWR instructor. Should be nice only having only one class on thursday and friday off.

Yeah--no lie, I'm pretty psyched about the long weekends. Hopefully that doesn't make me a bad student. But yes, my preliminary research conducted on the most reliable and trusted of sites (ratemyprofessor.com (*cough*)), seems to support your findings. Two good teachers isn't bad.

Edited for comma splice.

I thought this would be the best place to ask this question as most of you in this thread will be attending Iowa.

I am very interested in Iowa, but it seems like Iowa doesn't have the employment prospects to back up its ranking in US News. I mean if you compare it to similarly ranked schools (i.e. GW, W&M, BC, ND, UIUC, Emory), it doesn't measure up.

What do you guys think? Am I missing something?

Which employment statistics are you talking about?

I got my actual packet yesterday. Says were not supposed to buy our books because there is a strong possibility our section may change.

Thanks for the heads up, isustudent.

And Brick, yep, I'm (at least as of now) in section 9. And as for title for best section, 9 is higher than 1, so doesn't that automatically put us in the lead?

Well, 1 comes 8 spaces before 9, which does not sound like 9 is in the lead.

The statistics under the school descriptions. I know those are infamous for being flawed, but those similarliy ranked schools I mentioned earlier all have much higher starting salaries. I think the reason for this is that each of those schools have access to large legal markets (Chicago, Atlanta, DC, Boston).

I guess what I'm wondering is, does the private sector look at Iowa the same way they look at those aforementioned schools.

@lsb

The college is in Iowa. Starting salaries are comparatively lower because many Iowa grads seek employment in Iowa. Rankings aren't solely based on starting salary. That this is a mystery to you is a mystery to me.

Play with this for a little while:
