Found an interesting PDF of the Fall 2009 class schedule. We don't know what section we are in yet (at least I don't), but it still gives us an idea how long and how often we are in each class.

It looks like Property, Torts, and Contracts are all 4 credit hours while Legal Analysis Writing & Research is a 2 credit hour class.

I take it no one has gotten the second packet yet? How late is "late July"? I want my reading materials!

I expect it by the 31st. :) I think the 22nd is the end of mid-July.

We should have our sitdown at some point in the week before orientation.

Hmm, interesting. At least we won't have any late classes on Friday, regardless of section.

Also, I'll be there the 1st. Gettin' that shit set, eaaaaarrrrly.

I'll be there on August 1, U-Hall willing.

Some other things:
- I'm unable to buy student football tickets on the site.
- Anyone shop the New Pioneer coop? How's their stuff? Pricey? If so, worth it? Otherwise, I'm looking forward to the farmers' markets on Wed/Sat.
- Then, there's also this, which made me laugh.

Don't the Iowa City police know pics or it didn't happen?

I moved three weeks ago, although only from IC to Coralville. Been mapping out a bike route to the law school and enjoying the relative peace of not living in campus town any longer.

New Pi is slightly more expensive than your average grocery store, but they also offer an eclectic selection of food you probably can't find anywhere else. Also, being a co-op, it costs $60 to join, but you get it back when you give up your membership. They have a kickass deli though; delicious sandwiches.

I couldn't buy tickets initially either since it said my student ID# wasn't valid. Call the ticket office and they'll fix it for you.

"Police had problems with another participant at the naked hot tub party. Police said Daniel Allen Dietzel, 22, of Solon, was asked numerous times if he lived at the residence, to which he replied, "kind of.""

Awesome. Also, i'll be moving in on the 1st.

IOWA CITY — Fans of passenger rail service from Eastern Iowa to Chicago will rally Sunday when Gov. Chet Culver’s Iowa Unlimited rolls into town.

The governor is scheduled to stop at Iowa City’s historic depot, 119 Wright St., at noon as he travels to Chicago to participate in the Midwest High Speed Rail Summit on Monday. Along the way, Culver will make stops in West Liberty, Durant and Walcott. After crossing the Mississippi River, he will stop in Moline at the future site of the Quad Cities’ passenger rail depot.

The Iowa City Area Chamber of Commerce and passenger rail advocates will meet with Culver to discuss the importance of the Chicago-to-Iowa City passenger rail initiative.

The Chicago Flyer will fuel job growth, reduce congestion, boast environmental advantages and improve quality of life in the Iowa City area, according to Nancy Quellhorst, chamber president and CEO.

This would make call backs in Chicago much easier for Iowa Law students. Not that it's terribly difficult now but you can study on the train but not while driving. /starry eyed optimism

I came up with some proposed dates, and places for the Iowa City sitdown.

Places: Buffalo Wild Wings, Wedge Coffee Shop (Gelato stand), Givani’s in their outdoor seating area

Dates (these work for me): August 10th, 11th, 12th, and early on the 14th.

Did anyone else notice that they've posted partial class schedules on ISIS? I must admit I was excited to discover this.

I vote B-Dubs. (That's Buffalo Wild Wings, in laymans terms).

Many people around here in Iowa City are not fans of this. They think that it would be bringing more crime from individuals from Chicago than people would use it to get to Chicago. As it goes now, there are many low income families coming from Chicago to I.C. to take advantage of the cheap housing. I'm not sure which side I'm on yet.

Here are my professors. I have heard a few things about each and will share them with you all in case any of you are wondering.

Sheldon Kurtz, Property:Sheldon Kurtz, Property: Very engaging and an extremely nice person. Not sure about how tough he is.

Enrique Carrasco, Contracts: Good guy but tests are very difficult. Also a stong believer in the Socratic Method so always be prepared and have your books.

Herbery Hovenkamp, Torts: Another great guy but rumor is that his tests aren't as difficult as some of the other professors'. Many people say he is the best in the college.

Caroline Sheerin, Legal Analysis and Writing Research: Very helpful but extremely hard grader. Yay...

Minnesotans call it BW3. I have no idea why. There's just 2 Ws.

We could go to Buffalo Wild Wings anywhere. I'd rather go to a local place.

The Wedge is good. Givanni's is a little on the pricey side.
