Re: Iowa 2012
I visited today (I'm on the WL with very little hope) and it was really nice. I got to meet with Dean Byrd and he was great, as were all of the staff. I'm quite jealous of you people.

I was going to go to Minny sometime in July, likely the last weekend of the month, but seeing as how the LA one is that weekend, I probably won't get the luck of the two events lining up.

I fear I shall never know why they didn't schedule the Iowa City one for the first weekend in August.crystalhawkeye wrote:I was going to go to Minny sometime in July, likely the last weekend of the month, but seeing as how the LA one is that weekend, I probably won't get the luck of the two events lining up.

Hey everyone. I'm going to be at Iowa this fall and I'm going there this weekend to try and find an apartment. I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of some good apartment complexes or to where most of the law students stay. Can't wait to meet you all in the fall.

Welcome giaps2
Here's the housing info link from the law school's site:
http://www.law.uiowa.edu/students/stude ... ousing.php
The Off-Campus housing service link was helpful for me, as they keep it updated every day--but the listings are located all over IC and Coralville, so many are out of walking range from the law school. Law admissions sent out an email in early April with a list of apartment complexes closer to Boyd, but some (like Seville and Carriage Hill) were already filled by the time I started searching (about a month ago).

I did a little research on the venue for the Chicago ASG; until we hear about the other locations, Chicago remains TCR.

Re: Iowa 2012
Just to clarify, this is not an ASD but an ASG. There will no mock class and no panel discussions IIRC. This is a chance to meat/network with Iowa's fierce alumni. Moreover, it's in the bigest legal market can expect to possibly break into shortly after graduation. That said, I'd go just to hang out at a social club I will (very likely) never be able to join on the 80th floor.IlliChica wrote:Thanks, Mikey.

BTW It currently looks like I'll be there.

Oh sure, they have a gathering in Des Moines when I'm four hours away and can't make it, but now that I'm back, nothing. Jerks.

Re: Iowa 2012
So I'm in Iowa now and I'm having trouble finding a place. I am looking for something built in the last 10 years (read not dirty and built in the 70s). I'm just getting a vauge sense of campus and I could really use input as to where I should be searching. Where are some of the places everyone here has found? Also, I'll probably be at the Chicago ASG.

I can't get the time off from work, otherwise I might. If I were going to go to one it'd probably be the one in IC, but work still kinda gets in the way and it's on or around the 4th when I have other stuff going on. Oh well.mikeytwoshoes wrote:D00d, join all the hip peeps in Chicago.NorseHawk wrote:Oh sure, they have a gathering in Des Moines when I'm four hours away and can't make it, but now that I'm back, nothing.
