Some schools have Admitted Student Days too (as opposed to weekends), but most people on TLS just use the ASW acronym to convey both.

Re: Texas Class of 2012
Ay I don't know where else to ask this but I go to UG at UT and probably am gonna stay there for Law School. I have shots at CCN but... I don't know. I don't feel like moving away and I like UT. Plus, I think it's stock will rise in the next couple of years.
ANYWAYS, seeing as how most of the scholarships are offered to people who defer admission, do you know what they do with that money? I wanna get some money if I'm gonna stay here... lol.

Signed in to freshlaw today....
Could we talk about the insane requirements for password creation UT's system has... No words from the english dictionary, and requires a special character???
That's completely ridiculous.

Re: Texas Class of 2012
On LSN, in the past the people who have recieved some scholarships chose to go somewhere else. I guess I didn't mean defer, more of a withdraw... lol. Sorry... tired. Where does all the money go? I want itwaldodanto wrote:huh?brose wrote: ANYWAYS, seeing as how most of the scholarships are offered to people who defer admission,

Re: Texas Class of 2012
I actually know a few people who took the townes-hall (7k a year) who got into Chicago, Penn, Etc. What are your numbers and we can all tell you how much money you'll get or you can just look at lsn. They do it based completely based on numbers (according to another TLS thread, but it sounds reasonable).brose wrote:On LSN, in the past the people who have recieved some scholarships chose to go somewhere else. Re: Texas Class of 2012
Well, I haven't taken LSAT yet. Big deal -- I know. But I'm testing in the mid 170's consistently and have UGPA of 3.75. I also go to UT as an undergrad right now.
I don't think it's enough to get a full ride, but I want to get more money than what they're giving the people in my range. I guess it's more of a question of when/how to hit them up for more money...

Nope, 2 cycles from now... I guess I would be Class of '14. I'm a little ahead of myself, but want to be fully prepared! I'm taking a year off after I graduate in Dec 09. Well, I guess 1.5 years...

Re: Texas Class of 2012
I hope to be there soon as well. However, I applied 1/6, haven't heard anything but the "we got your app" email right afterward. I'd kill to get into UT and am already considering writing an LOCI just to be prepared if I get WL (168/3.3 Engineer). Hopefully be joining you in Austin come this fall!

Found out I'm in via the status checker. Admission packet is in the mail and I'm really hoping it contains the full ride. I don't know if I could turn that down. Someone said they got a phone call? Should I be expecting one?

Re: Texas Class of 2012
I haven't been accepted... I applied late with a 171 and 3.6 gpa (and am TX resident) so I'm hopeful. But I was wondering if anyone could speak more about how merit money is offered, and what, if any, I should expect (if I'm accepted)

That's awesome news for you guys that have decided!
I'm still waiting to hear from UT. Just got the complete email though on Friday so it'll probably be another few weeks.

Re: Texas Class of 2012
Got the complete email 1/15, but originally applied 12/19 with only one LOR. But UT only requires one I think, so I'm not sure if the second was a factor. Anyway, I'm pretty psyched.Esc wrote:When did you apply and go complete?SoberHobo wrote:Found out I'm in via the status checker. As far as schollys go, I'm still very hopeful about the Townes-Rice...but who knows...
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
