waiting to hear about the first round of columbia waitlist, but as soon as that comes out I will know for sure. So now pretty much like 99% sure im going to UT, cause I doubt I will get off the first round, if at all.

Im from Culver City, so you wont be the only SoCal kid.

Nice. I was born in Ladera Heights--that's just up the street from you.

Good luck with Columbia. I'm on First Reserve at Columbia too, but no matter how I look at it, I just can't see myself at Columbia. The fact that Columbia is # 4 on USNWR's roster does little for me.

Good question. I'm getting my teeth cleaned before I lose my dental insurance once my teaching job ends in a few weeks. Ha

I am fortunate enough to have health insurance through my husband's work.

For the rest of you, I will note that UT does have a student health insurance that you can purchase through UnitedHealthcare. I don't know much about it, but here is a link. https://www.uhcsr.com/

Their health services center is suprisingly good, by the way. It's a lot better than the one that my grad school had. The insurance, however, is probably not amazing. School insurance never is.

You can make appointments with the doctors in the health services center at no charge, but they do charge for tests, shots, etc. That's the way it was when I was in undergrad and the website makes it seem like that is still the case.

I looked at the student health insurance, but if I'm remembering correctly, it looked expensive (base premiums over $100), and had crappy benefits.

Might have to go without and hope I don't get sick :(

So Im going to be going to Austin in two weeks to look for a place to buy. When I am out there I kind of want to look around. Does anyone have any recommendations on things I should see? Also any places that are must eats?

Eat (or at least drink) at one of the Trudy's locations. The food is great and the Mexican Martini is the best drink in town.

So anyone know what the big night is in terms of the social scene at UT Law? I plan on going out exactly one night a week in order to have something to look forward to, and I've heard that Thursdays tend to be the shiz because of Bar Review and the general lack of Friday classes.

Just one man's opinion though.

For those of us who don't have the time to prep this summer with E&E's and such, I think this program could give us some reassurance.

I figured I'd pass on this link in case anybody had trouble finding it:
--LinkRemoved--

You can access exams sorted by subject or instructor. I've been having fun reading some of the con. law exams. One of them is entirely about cloning. :3
