Re: Chicago Class of 2012
I just moved into Regents. After moving out of a fifth floor walkup and 21 hours crammed in the back of a pickup, I think I'll have a nap before I tackle the unpacking. I like it, though.

Are most people moving into Regents next month?

Yay, that's exciting! How was moving in/the whole lease signing process? Krista e-mailed me all of those documents the other night...it was quite overwhelming.pehaigllleises wrote:I just moved into Regents. Re: Chicago Class of 2012
My fiance was already here on Sunday, and he read and already signed our leases himself and did the apartment check in. Since he had already actually read them I just glanced over them and blindly signed them today, so it took me all of 10 minutes. Krista said that he was one of the few people who even stopped to read what he was signing.keylimelove wrote:Yay, that's exciting! How was moving in/the whole lease signing process? How's your view?
I am in the North Tower facing south. A large chunk of my view is dominated by the South Tower, but I still see quite a bit of the lake and the point and the campus. I'm on the 20th floor.

These are pictures he took before I got here. Now the apartment is full a hodgepodge of weirdly placed furniture and my unpacked stuff.

My main criticism is that it doesn't have as much closet space as it looked like it had on the floorplans online. I'm in the 08 1 bedroom floorplan in the North Tower, and while it has enough closet space for one person, it's pushing it for two.

Well, I got my grad housing assignment today. 1215 E Hyde Park Blvd. Not sure if I'm accepting it yet, but they only give me until Monday to make a decision.

I'm still waiting on a grad housing assignment. It would be so bad if I wasn't moving from Texas. This is getting reallllllly frustrating.

It is a nice view, and virtually all of the Regents apartments have it, so you'll soon get your own.

Smith's General Urology.
I read medical textbooks in my spare time.
That's a lie. I just like to look at the pictures (wink).
Or really my fiance is rotating in the uro department at UofC this month and considers urology textbooks "bathroom reading." And all the time reading. As in he's sitting on the couch reading the same book right now. I'm only not terrified of law school because I know it can't be as hard as med school.

Haha. I wish. I'm going to be too tired to do well in law school. Because he's up at 5:00 and now so am I.

For those of you living in Regents, what are your plans for purchasing furniture?

Going furniture and other types of shopping when I get there, and having the store deliver. Not sure how I'll handle reserving the freight elevator on short notice, since they seem to be a little anal about that.Raz14 wrote:For those of you living in Regents, what are your plans for purchasing furniture?

After not hearing a peep from University housing I decided to the pull the plug on them and go with a different option. They said that I can expect my rebate check in about 4-6 weeks.

I moved into the South Tower at Regents last week. The view is BEAUTIFUL!!!!
Also, I know this is kind of random, but if any of you are planning on going out to Ikea, send me a PM? I don't have a car but I need to buy a dresser and a bookshelf
