i also signed my lease and put my deposit on an apartment in Casa Roma (i think i said this already :P ). they may have some space available(http://www.ithacastudentapartments.com) for those of you still looking. you may have to find a roommate though because i don't think they have anymore studios, 1 bedrooms.

also, check out the other grad off-campus housing (like Hasbrouck or Thurston Court). they are a little further away (about a 15-20 min walk), but right in front of bus stops, so it won't be too difficult getting back and forth. plus, we get free bus passes the first year 8)

missv, if you don't mind me asking, how much are you paying for rent at Casa Roma? I know you went to Cornell before so what do you think is reasonable for rent? I am frantically trying to find a place to live right now and I am shocked at how small and expensive some of the places are! And do you know of anywhere else where 1 bedrooms are still available?

Thanks!

i got a housing assignment for hughes as well, but i just sent a note to cancel my request, so hopefully that frees up a large single for someone else :D

the rent at casa roma (for a 2br) starts at $1560, and the most expensive is $1780. it's a bit expensive, but not as expensive as living right in collegetown. but honestly, at this late in the game, you're not going to find a lot of good deals on apartments (unless they are a little further away from the law school). a lot of the current students already snagged the better deals earlier in the year. i'm hoping that next year i can move out of casa roma and find something a little cheaper.

Also, I don't know if this has to do with anything, but large (what I was assigned) was my second choice, after regular.

I got assigned an XL...I believe regular was also my first choice. But I'm assuming it probably was for most people? Doesn't seem like the small/regular ones have been assigned, at least not to TLS people.

^Actually, I just checked my email from earlier and apparently I was assigned a regular room.
The funny thing is, I asked for a large as a first choice lol.

Also, add me to the list of for Cornell 2012!

haha well it's OK since the only reason why I asked for a large was because I thought that it would mean a better chance of living at Hughes. But I am definitely happy with a regular. Otherwise I would definitely switch with someone. I just thought it was funny/weird how they assign rooms...

Hey guys, I also got a Hughes assignment. My first choice was small and second choice regular. I ended up getting regular.

Anyone who might be able to answer this question, I would appreciate it...

Will it be impossible to find living quarters that aren't outrageously expensive or outrageously shitty if I can't apartment hunt until late June/ early July? My main concern is that the place be affordable; I don't mind living farther down the hill.

Thanks!

I also have the same concern. And I don't mind living farther down the hill either...

FWIW, living down the hill isnt so bad. It's a very nice walk in the spring and fall, and during the winter, the 10 bus will get you from the commons to the law school in less than 15 minutes.
