Nope, sorry. But I think it might be on the admitted students' site. My guess is that it will just be an abbreviated version of the events of ASW just without sitting in on a class and things along those lines.CCA wrote:Do you what the events will be for the preview day?sjp08 wrote:The preview day is Saturday April 4th.hdg315 wrote:
Luckily I live in MD only about an hour and a half from Philly, so I may do Friday of ASW and the preview day- which btw I wasn't able to find the date for. Anyone know?

Re: Penn Class of 2012
I'm coming to the ASW! I'm going to go to the Mar 26 evening event as well. Just booked my room at the Club Quarters (and for significantly less than they stated on the ASW site... bad information psh).
I love Philly. Penn seems like the best fit for me, although I'm still undecided. I can't wait.

That's what I signed up for. Does that mean you're guaranteed to get it or will they let you know? I figure it'll be free and informative... and the person wants a guest anyway. \o/sjp08 wrote:I agree- we can do better than 2 pages! Anyway, are people going to try to stay with a 1L during ASW?kurla88 wrote:This thread needs more action, though! 2 pages? Psht!

what class are people thinking of attending for asw?
any tips on the following?

I sat in on a class with Professor Kreimer last Spring. It was great, so I'd recommend that. But because I already sat in on that I will probably either go to the other Constitutional Law class or maybe the mock class.hotburrito wrote:what class are people thinking of attending for asw?

I can't make it to the Friday of ASW. Does anyone know if it's still worth it to go on Saturday, or if I'll have "missed the boat" pretty much at that point?

You won't get to sit in on a class, but there are a number of interesting panels (housing, career, financial aid) that you might want to attend on Saturday.thistimereborn wrote:I can't make it to the Friday of ASW. Re: Penn Class of 2012
I was at barnes & noble (bookstore) the other day and looked at the UPenn profile in a law school book.
It said that there is no formal GPA and no class ranking.
is this true? Can someone please explain this and how grading at UPenn / distinction among peers works?
Thanks!

Pretty sure there are GPA's and ranks, but they just release them to potential employers and not to students (at least not until you're done with school).

Re: Penn Class of 2012
I haven't looked at this link, but I was told by a current student that they don't rank at all or calculate GPAs. The GPA thing seems odd to me because you could just figure it out yourself, but apparently you can't put it on a resume because it is not official. That makes me think they don't release the info to employers either. It's all for the purpose of keeping a collegial, not competitive environment. I think it's a huge perk to Penn.dresq wrote:http://www.law.upenn.edu/cpp/employer/a ... on2003.pdfthistimereborn wrote:I was at barnes & noble (bookstore) the other day and looked at the UPenn profile in a law school book.

So it says that a travel subsidy will be provided of $200 (for those not in the NE) if one cannot afford to visit and to use your discretion.
I could make the visit work without the money. It would mean scrimping in other areas (i.e. being more frugal on food in the next few week, etc.). Would it be unethical to still request it?

If it will affect your life to pay the $200 for a ticket, ask for the subsidy. They have more than enough money and they are offering it.StuckonThis wrote:So it says that a travel subsidy will be provided of $200 (for those not in the NE) if one cannot afford to visit and to use your discretion.

Re: Penn Class of 2012
I was lucky enough to get the Levy Scholarship (near full-ride), so it looks like I'll be going to Penn, even though Columbia is my true love.
The Levy Scholarship really does seem like "an offer you can't refuse," doesn't it? I know that even if I got into Columbia, I'd get no scholarship from them.
Would you guys take the Levy Scholarship over a top 4 school with no scholarship? With every day that goes by I feel like just sending in my scholarship acceptance form to Penn and withdrawing from all other schools...

I am pretty juiced to visit Penn in a few weeks. I've heard very good and helpful things from a friend who is there as a 2L. Anyone have any thoughts on Philly? It seems like my kind of town.
