I am soooooooo excited!! An Ivy League and in my home state :)

I don't think anyone has received their admission packages yet. The woman who called yesterday said they wouldn't be mailed until January. I do think our acceptance letters are in the mail, though!

I only got a thin slip of paper, about 3 or 4 business days after my ED call. The corner was ripped, no less!

As the poster above mentioned, the letter states that the actual package with all the enrollment information will be mailed in January.

IIRC from my letter, the ASW will be on the last weekend of March. I think the dates are March 27-28. Will I see you there? :)

I can't wait to get the actual packet with the details about ASW and all the info about moving in and starting school. Already looking at housing listings in Philly for [edit-]no good reason...

I got a very thin envelope with my written offer about a week after my phone call. They said to stay tuned for a larger package in January... my guess is they'll send you that instead of the skinny envelope. Also, congrats

Got in today!!! I applied ED but, essentially, was deferred, so I am not sure if it is binding. Regardless, I would say I'm still going to Penn even if I'm no longer obligated to go. I am a Penn undergrad now and I am THRILLED to stay another 3 years!

When are people going to start looking into housing? And how will people go about finding roommates?

I had heard that April-June were the prime apartment getting months. I do know someone (in another grad program at Penn) who go there housing stuff done in July.

Anyways though, I'm definitely not living in Sansom (have heard awful things) and will probably end up in Center City. I just need to find a roommate!

Yeah, I've been in Sansom and they're not very nice. I couldn't imagine going back to a dorm situation. It's just like the undergrad high rises/other dorms where you have to swipe your Penn card to get in. It's also pretty expensive. I reallyyy hope I can move to center city, it would be a nice change from University city now, but I guess it will come down to the best place/deal I can find. I'm more concerned with the roommate thing.

Penn Law 2012 TLS House?

I don't know if I would want to live with a fellow 1L. It'd be nice to have a study group at home, but people who are more neurotic than I am about school annoy the crap out of me. An environment with shared stress might not be the most advantageous living situation.

I think there's a Facebook group that you guys might wanna join to start looking for roomies.

I'm changing the subject a bit... but did anyone see on the admitted students website that you can now download the Penn Portfolio (the binder that they send you with boatloads of information)? I'm so antsy to look at it all that I am doing it online because I just can't wait for the actual binder to come... so sad, I know. :o Does anyone know when those will be mailed?

Their initial letter said sometime in January.
January's almost over -- so I hope it comes soon!

What I have heard from Penn students:

Do NOT live in Sansom.

Otherwise, I would say it's pretty much 50/50 split between living in University City (closer to school) and Center City (closer to nightlife/shopping/restaurants).

Got my portfolio on Saturday - finally!
Unfortunately, my long-standing excitement had been prematurely quelled by viewing the PDF version of it online...

ASW, btw, is during the last few days of undergrad spring fling...one of those things that has put Penn as the "party ivy."

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
