Haha, that's the problem. There is no on-campus housing! Fun times, huh?
Ooh... Yale's graduate housing doesn't apply to law students?

edit: http://www.law.yale.edu/studentlife/Housing.asp -- doesn't this imply that we can apply for graduate student housing?

I'm under the impression that you can live in graduate housing, but that most students do not take that option. I've heard that the graduate housing is not very nice (Rabbit?).

ah... I've looked for figures on how many students live in graduate housing, but I couldn't find any. Does anyone know? It's also very tempting because it seems extremely reasonably priced.

I only know one person who lives in actual grad student housing/dorms (http://www.yale.edu/gradhousing/). She seems to like it okay. Most law students choose to live off-campus in privately owned apartment buildings or houses.

You *can* try to live in the grad housing, and to be honest I'm not sure why law students don't do it...but a fair number of people live in Elm Campus apartments, which is just a fancy way of saying "apartments that are owned by Yale but privately managed" - http://www.elmcampus.com/

yeah, ive been looking into dorms too. the only real pain of living in HGS is the mandatory 10-meal plan, which costs $1890 a semester. it kind of offsets the savings.

+1 But I'm not so excited about the prospect of having HW again.

Sorry if this was already discussed, but does anyone have an idea how many people attend the ASWs? It seems that with such a small class and high retention rate there wouldn't be more than 20 or 30 at each program.....

Really? I remember reading that "more than half of the class" attends in my binder. I might be wrong too, though.

I really hope it's over 100.. or else it may get stuffy!

I think traditionally, the Monday programs have attracted about 10-20 people. This year, the first had about 12 and the second had 6 (an anomaly!).

The main program last year had 140 students...so a huge percentage of the incoming class. I think that's pretty typical from year to year, and we're really excited to get a big turnout this year, too. All the student groups are really stoked to participate in the activities fair on Friday, and it may or may not be the case that current students have a number of "unofficial social activities" planned for the weekend, too... :)

Hahaha, I don't even go to YLS (or belong on this thread for that matter) but somehow I guess TITCR.

What would we do without you, rabbit? ;)

For those of you coming to the ASW or just visiting campus in the next few weeks, here are my suggestions for things to check out in New Haven in any free time you might have: http://similarlysituated.blogspot.com/2 ... haven.html

Why are we celebrating the year 1638 for lunch and not for dinner? :(

I'm really excited as well!

With so many TLSers there though, I'm going to be wondering who's who all weekend :)

Have fun in Palo Alto! Let me know if you need any recommendations on what to see and do while you're there as I have 4 years worth of social experiences to draw on. And before you ask, yes, the weather is always that nice.

I'm really looking to the mock class. It looks like it will be more involved than the others I have attended.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
