While yale was my dream school coming into this process, I am trying to regain some sense of perspective on the decision. I definitely want to visit Y, S, and H (if I get in) and any other school that gives me lots of money. I guess I will try to not make up my mind until after those visits... and the receipt of financial aid packages.
everybody repeat after me: "there is no shame in blindly deciding to go to yale"

+1 only I'm not sure when I'll withdraw from the other schools. Any suggestions?

Littleboyblue, are you planning on going to the April ASW? Same question for comeback, ccw, KN, and all others.

I am planning on being there as well. Mostly just to meet people though since I have already visited the school and will most likely accept before ASW (as I mentioned earlier).

I'll be there too. It'll be a bit of a trek for me coming from Arizona, but I plan on going. We'll have to make sure we introduce ourselves to each other.

 I think it's time to make your peace with being in the company of weirdos before you go to one of these schools.

does anyone know the difference between the ASW and the (I think) Mondays that are also days to visit the school? do most people just go to the ASW?

I'm sure current students can answer it better. But the mondays just seem to be a heavily condensed version of the ASW for those who want a visit+experience that isn't so close to the deposit deadline.

I'm making plans for the two day ASW

No not yet. Although according to the lady in charge of ASW stuff it should be up soon.

Yes, *most* people just go to the ASW - I think last year, there were about 140 admitted students there. You definitely should, if at all possible, if you're seriously considering enrolling. You'll get the best sense of what your classmates will be like, you'll get to mix with current students, and there are lots of cool things (I don't want to give away too much...) that you get to do at the ASW that just aren't possible in a one day program.

[Going on what I know from other students....I just went to the ASW, so grain of salt, etc.]:
The Monday programs are MUCH smaller (a handful - a dozen people, maybe?) and will give you a basic overview of stuff, a student-led tour, and a chance to check things out (you can sit in on a class, I imagine, or maybe meet with a professor?) on a "real" law school day. You'll get your questions answered, same as at the ASW, but the real sense of what the school is like might not be as full/well-rounded.

sigh:: YLS is capping travel subsidies at $350. rabbit, would you say that a visit is worth, say, spending $1000 (assuming that I'm set on YLS)? Feel free to spoil the beans for me by revealing the "cool things" via PM.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
