The Ohio State University 2012
I figured I'd start this thread. Who else will be attending?

I am an undergrad at OSU right now. I still need to take my LSAT (scheduled for June 09) but def expect to apply to Moritz. What other schools were you looking at and what made you decide OSU was the best school for you?

Re: The Ohio State University 2012
i'm prob attending!!!! well, i'm putting down the deposit and riding out a waitlist, but i'm super pumped and if the waitlist doesn't work out i think i'll be really happy at osu (and may choose it anyway)!
housing: at first i thought the campus gateway was way overpriced, but now i'm thinking the convenience might be worth an extra few hundred dollars...

Besides the schools on campus dorms, and the south gateway , where else is a good place to live in?

From what I remember current students said many choose to live in Clintonville and Grandview. Check out http://www.metro-rentals.com/. That site has a lot of good information about the different Columbus neighborhoods.tommy1 wrote:Besides the schools on campus dorms, and the south gateway , where else is a good place to live in?

Woo hoo...holler for the Buckeyes. After doing a lot of thinking, I love OSU and I can't pass up a full ride so I will see you all there in the fall!
I live in Cbus now (went to OSU for undergrad and have lived here for 6 years) so if anybody has questions about housing/things to do/anything really...just let me know.
I live in the short north area right now and I love it. I would def. say the Gateway is overpriced. Try looking at the apartments in Victorian Village/short north and places to rent in italian village. Close to everything and a great place to live.

I don't know the exact dollar amt. b/c it depends on how many bedrooms etc but they are several hundreds of dollars more than other apartments that are a little farther away.

So you ended up picking OSU over Illinois?
I'm starting to lean that way as well, actually, despite Illinois being the front runner for a while. I just have a hard time justifying the extra $40-50K debt I'd undertake going to Illinois simply for the higher rank, proximity to chicago (which i like but am not completely sold on), and the receptiveness of Pless/staff/etc.

Decided to commit to Ohio State. (like others, I am still riding out some WLs though)
Does anyone know if you can pay your seat deposit online? Or does it have to be snail mail?

I'm still waiting on a gazillion waitlists before I fully prepare for OSU.
Anyone else in that boat?

I'm not quite in that boat but I can feel your pain. I def. was dragging my feet a bit. I had to let OSU know by April 15th if I was coming and I sent in my acceptance stuff on the 14th. It was just so stinking hard to say no to Vandy.opj2002 wrote:I'm still waiting on a gazillion waitlists before I fully prepare for OSU.
