I dug Lenfest, but the huge cost combined with 1L year living alone..
seems depressing for moving to a new place and encountering an unparalleled level of stress

I requested unfurnished housing too--I can't bring myself to pay for Lenfest and I'm not downgrading to a twin bed!

I hope I'm not making this up, but furnished housing usually means a full bed? Can someone confirm this?

From what I understood, full beds are only provided in Lenfest. UAH furnished housing comes with twins.

I requested for an unfurnished UAH. You get a lot more space than Lenfest at a much more reasonable price. Plus I'd like some grown up furniture now (not to mention my own mattress. can't even bear the thought of sleeping on a whoknowswhatsomeonedidtothisone mattress!)

What is the monthly rate on unfurnished?

http://facilities.columbia.edu/housing/ ... ions#rates
It ranges from $756-$1241 (Apartment Shares).
At the ASW, one girl was paying only 700 because her building was going through renovations (can we say awesome?). With that exception, most people were paying around around 850-950 for a clean, two/three bedroom apartments. But then again, they were law school arranged housing visits, which means they aren't going to show dingy/overpriced ones.

I saw the same stuff... I think I visited every apartment during my visit except for the couples/family housing. It would be nice to know how dingy the unfurnished can get - the ones I saw were all ok, and the only place I didn't much like was the cheapest furnished one. While I still want to search Craigslist at least a bit, I'm starting to lean more towards the security of not having to move for 3 years & low-hassle summer sublets. I've already accepted the drastic reduction in my lifestyle that will accompany being a student.

Entering students who do not have an active UNI should call Dell at 1-800-695-8133 and give Columbia's Dell Member ID: US24184416.

Entering students without an active UNI:
Email or call Ronnie Peters at Apple (ronnie_peters@apple.com, 646-256-9421) for special pricing and directions for ordering.

all taken care of..

If you have your Columbia email, your uni is just everything before the @.

Sigh, don't have my e-mail yet.

Hey Lem,
I posted this earlier in the forum but you can go to http://www.law.columbia.edu/law_school/ ... dent#41285
and look up your UNI. I found mine even though I haven't gotten the e-mail yet...Setting it up was really easy and only took like 10 minutes.
Hope this works for you!

Anyone have thoughts on the need for the 2.66 GB as opposed to the 2.4 (macbook pro)? I don't do graphics work, so I'm thinking is over-powered for my needs but....thoughts?
