If anyone needs to enroll in the "continuation" health insurance coverage (ie coverage for August), I believe you have to do it here:

Re: Columbia Law School 2012!
Theoretically you should if you set up your Columbia email account. It's of the form abc1234.frank_the_tank wrote:Danke =)
noob question #2
I'm looking at the MMR form now..do we have a University Network ID(UNI) yet?
I can't find it right now, but one of the emails they sent us had a link to instructions on how to retrieve your UNI - do a gmail search.

SET UP YOUR COLUMBIA EMAIL ACCOUNT
Kindly create and begin using your Columbia email account. Starting in
June, the offices of Student Services, Registration Services, and
Financial Aid (all offices you will need for your transition to Columbia Law School)
will be in contact with you via this email address with important
information regarding your matriculation. We therefore ask that
you create your Columbia email account as soon as possible.
To set up your e-mail account:
* follow the instructions at:
http://www.law.columbia.edu/law_school/ ... ingstudent
We think the instructions to retrieve the UNI (which is required to set up your
email) are somewhat convoluted, so please be patient. You will be asked to enter
your name twice. Once your full name appears, please click on it to retrieve your
UNI. Thereafter, you should follow the instructions to set up your email account.
* forward your Columbia email to your current address, if you prefer, by
logging into your account at http://uni.columbia.edu/, then follow the
instructions for forwarding accounts.

A hospital probably can't do it because they need access to your medical records. I think Lem said that you can have your UG do it if you submitted a similar form back then.frank_the_tank wrote:Haha nah, I appreciate it! My UG didn't require MMR immunization. The hospital I was going to go to is my former insurance provider's...they should have those records, I hope!. I just wish I didn't have to pay through the nose to meet my ex-doctor for him to sign them.

Your doctor charges you? I just dropped them off with a self-addressed envelope and mine did it for free.frank_the_tank wrote: My UG didn't require MMR immunization. I feel like getting schwasted and sitting around singing "You've Got to Hide Your Love Away" the night I move in. Just a thought...

I told them they should really reduce their class sizes and tranfers because it's making them look like a diploma mill. Is that rude?Lem37 wrote:Me too. I managed to get through it all, but that was mostly because it's more interesting than work right now. Yay doc review.Lem37 wrote:I just got the "Why Aren't You Enrolling at NYU?" survey. It is the longest. Fucking. Thing. Ever. I gave up halfway through.
Also, I just got my housing assignment - a furnished 2-bedroom share at 130 Morningside Avenue for $901/month. It's about 5 minute's walk from the law school, according to Google. After seeing people get assigned to the Arbor, I think I got off lucky - I'm going to take it. Roomie is a History Student.

Lem... my theory about annoying parents and housing assignments is proving to be true .

Re: Columbia Law School 2012!
I kind of enjoyed the NYU survey, since I think Columbia is the vastly superior NY law school and got to say why.
On a more humble note... still waiting on housing approval and an assignment. I also support the parents theory.

Am I the only one here who didn't get into NYU? I never got a decision so I withdrew.

I emailed Elizabeth Grainger over the weekend and didn't hear back today. How long do I wait before trying again? I really don't want to bug her but I'll be out of easy email/internet/electronic bank transfer access by Friday and I'm worried the email might have ended up in her spam since I sent it from my personal acct....

Re: Columbia Law School 2012!
lex and I talked about it a bunch in this thread, I think. I decided on Chase and I think she was talking about Citibank.booyakasha45 wrote:which banks are you guys signing up for? I remember this being posted in one of the Columbia threads but I can't find it.
Pros for Chase for me were:
Getting a Chase rewards credit card with $50 reward for signing up and being able to link that easily to a free Chase checking acct
Chase ATMs all over campus and at every Duane Reade
I'm sure Lex can tell you more, but I think two of the big pros for her for Citibank were no fee ATM withdrawals at any ATM and lots of Citibank ATMs in Manhattan. I can't remember what her other ones were....
FWIW I'm also maintaining my existing B of A acct because i already have a credit card/checking/savings with them.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
