Yea, that's a mess... if I had to guess, the store owner will probably get hit with gun charges, and I'd agree that he might face a lawsuit too. Oy... sticky situation.jdw06005 wrote:Anyone hear about the shooting on 125th St? Thanks, Booya! I'll definitely buy you a drink for your efforts! I hope to see some people out. The band is starting to think I'm making up the whole Columbia thing.booyakasha45 wrote:I'll try to recruit some people.MeTalkPrettyOneDay wrote:This place, on the Lower East Side: http://cake-shop.com/? That sounds like fun. I'll try and make it down if I can. If anyone else is thinking of going, reply here or PM.
In other good news, I'll finally be at my apartment by then. Tomorrow I get my keys and drop off a few bags, but I won't be in the city much until Saturday.

The police are saying that even though the gun wasn't licensed, they're not going to prosecute.MeTalkPrettyOneDay wrote:Yea, that's a mess... if I had to guess, the store owner will probably get hit with gun charges, and I'd agree that he might face a lawsuit too. And after looking at the profs listed, I'm kind of bummed out.

Who were you hoping for?
I'm excited Peter Strauss is teaching Legal Methods though.

I'm not really sure who's teaching first year Law classes, but some people who've taught it before seemed more appealing.zero1 wrote:sbalive wrote:Legal Practice Workshop on Friday mornings

I'm probably just bumming out over nothing. I think I'm finally getting stressed out over taking classes again
EDIT: Okay, I changed my mind. I'm over my disappointment.

Re: Columbia Law School 2012!
I'm in Strauss' legal methods as well.
I also got Ted Shaw for CivPro. Don't know the guy, but his bio sounds pretty badass (head of NAACP Legal Defense till last year, argued Gratz and Grutter v. Bollinger).

Yeah. Damn, we have quite a bit of classes every single day. I suppose senioritis must finally be done away with.

I got Shaw as well...everyday. I'm not familiar with him off-the-bat either but he appears to be a pretty big deal.
