Actually: guys, can anyone provide a checklist for exactly what we need to do by May 1st? I enrolled + paid my seat deposit a few months ago, and after submitting my FinAid forms I received a grant, but is there anything (besides enrolling, which I did) I need to do to accept that grant?

EDIT: I know there's a checklist on CLS's website. I think I'm more concerned, like suddenly, oh, you were supposed to submit Financial Aid Form 8A to officially be enrolled, you fail, have fun at Cooley.

The most expensive COA in the T14? Actually, I'm just guessing here...

Forget what I said! Join us!
most expensive COA? u are forgetting NYU my friend

and JOIN us

by the way guys, after i put down my deposit, how long would it take them to send me a columbia email?
Heh. NYU's cost of attendance for 08-09 was $67,738. Columbia's was 68,000. (This year it's 71,000!)

That said, I do believe you can do Columbia for much cheaper than the official COA. This is not necessarily the case at NYU.

Weird - it let me right in. In the stuff they had sent us, they said we wouldn't be able to access that till May 1st, so I was surprised it worked. Has anybody else tried and gotten it to work?

What are the chances of getting the seat deposit waived? Also, can it be paid online? If I decided on Columbia and the deposit was due by May 1, it'd be difficult for me to get it there.

Do we get a separate e-mail with our login ID and such? If not, where do we get that?

Okay I think I figured this out, you need to click that you don't have a UNI and then fill in the info and they'll give you one.

It's official, I will be joining y'all in the fall!!!

Wanted to post here sooner, but I was still waiting on Harvard--just got the rejected email and I could not be more excited for Columbia!! I was at the Mondays at Columbia event a couple weeks ago and loved it...here's to a great three years!

Does anyone know when Columbia's school year begins?

The housing form asks for an exact date.

Thanks!

Pshhh, I'm annoyed at your for posting in other threads about waiting for other schools and then posting in here like you care about us CLS-ers. Meanie.

I believe the start date is August 17, but August 13 weirdly sticks in mind...it's on the admitted students' website.

Hehe, sorry.

I do care about CLS, and I actually really like the regulars in this thread (though I had mixed feelings about the actual people I met at the ASW).

To be fair, you did vote for Stanford in that CLS vs SLS thread, but point taken.

Yes, I gave up on the ASW pretty fast because I just kept meeting ppl that were waiting to hear from or were pretty set on other schools. I figured I'd meet everyone during orientation anyway. I also always take it as a bad sign for immediate social interaction when I'm one of the only blondes in the room. Kidding!

I did qualify my SLS vote with an explanation that my family/BF are here, so I'm biased...the weather is also better...and I already have an apartment....

I accepted at Columbia on Sunday and sent in the deposit via internet, have not heard a word since (except that erroneous email). Is this normal, should I be worried?

WELCOME!

and yes, it is totally normal, i called admission today and they confirmed on the phone that my deposit was received, i guess you can do the same,

i think someone posted a link on page 35 or something of this thread that you can verify whether they assigned u a columbia email, if you do find your UNI, i think it means they got ur deposit

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
