Oh, wow. I really am 007. I registered on a secret page! Ten minutes ago, I checked again, and the page was still there. Now, whether I click the "link" or type in the URL, I get the blank, "untitled" page too.

Maybe it wasn't supposed to be publicly available yet? Neither of the other links from that page--one for looking at available classes to visit and another for registering a guest--was functional, although the form itself seemed to work just fine.
That happened to me on Tuesday or Wednesday -- the "untitled" page.

Yay! The schedule for the March ASW is up. You still can't register for it, though.

The file appears to be mostly blank to me (i.e. no actual schedule).

OK, now you're just messing with me, right? You really don't see the schedule at https://www.law.harvard.edu/prospective ... or-web.pdf? (I assume you have to be logged in to access the page.)

Anyone know the Harvard rate for The Charles?

Damn hotels are ridiculous.

The Charles' Harvard Rate is $302 (regular rate is $289).

Makes no sense...

All the hotels within walking distance of HLS are $200+ a night.

Hmm...I must have an outdated version of Reader or something because I still don't see anything below "Saturday, March 14, 2009."

If anyone wants to consider splitting a room at The Charles or The Inn at Harvard, I'm up for it. I plan to arrive the evening of 3/13.

The Charles Deluxe Two Double Beds would come out to $148.50/night per person.

The Inn at Harvard would come out to $130.50/night per person.

I know I'm beating a dead horse here, but this hotel (http://doubletree1.hilton.com/en_US/dt/ ... CSGBJF222Q) is less than 2 miles and is half the price. That's a lot of cab fare.

hmmm...i registered on a page that no longer exists...they must have not been ready to put it up yet.

Thanks. Somehow missed that one (perhaps because I only looked at the hotels HLS has listed as being "within a short walking distance.")

Still $159/night > $148 or $130/night.

I did this too. Apparently it did work, though; I received an e-mail confirmation of my registration this afternoon. And the "secret" registration form is up again now, accessible only (as far as I can tell) by clicking the space to the right of "Register a guest . . ." Weird.

Yes, I meant to say this before--thanks for the tip! This is where my husband and I are going to stay, even though he's grouchy about it because he says it's not conveniently located. (He lived in Boston as a college student.) But it has an indoor pool, so I'm sold!

Just to let you guys know -- if it's decently nice outside, the Doubletree that you mentioned earlier in the thread is probably a 10-15 min walk to Harvard Square (so 20 min to the law school, if that). (You have to cross a highway to get to the path along the river, but it was on my running route when I went to school up there, and it's actually a nice walk.) Cab from Harvard to the Doubletree would probably run you $6.50.

Also, there are a ton of bed and breakfasts around Harvard Square that might actually be cheaper than the Charles Hotel, depending on what weekend you're going.

Just FYI - sry to butt into the thread.

Hey, just curious, how soon does everyone expect them to name the acting Dean and the new Dean after the inauguration/confirmation hearings?

They've already named the new acting dean. It is Howell Jackson.

For hotels, the Sheraton Commander is really close. I stayed there recently and it is pretty nice.

If I'm going on vacation to a place as cold as Boston/Cambridge, it's a big deal!

And since I'm sure there will be some other admitted students staying at the hotel I'm staying at...what better place to hang out at night than a hot tub? 8)

haha good point!

So I take it most of us are planning on the March ASW? Think they'll have an idea about the new dean by then?

Hopefully. I'm most likely going to the March ASW. Just trying to figure out the logistics (flight, hotel, etc).

Hello guys I was admitted to Harvard last month and am posting here on TLS for the first time, I have been lurking for a looonnnnggg time :D ; just wondering if anybody here plans on going to the April ASW rather than March?

I've thought about it, but I think the March ASW will give me more time to make my decision. I like to give things some time to "settle" before I choose.

Also, it almost coincides with my spring break so that would make arrangements (somewhat) easier.

And congrats TLS4Life!

I'll be at the Doubletree for March ASW. Already made reservations.
