Might try and skim a few in August, I guess. June and July are for drinking.

Bank of America is definitely the best represented bank in the area. They have ATMs all over and banking centers in Harvard and Central squares. Five years ago they took over Fleet, which had a huge presence in Boston, and inherited all their resources.

I will probably get them before moving in, but I doubt I'll do anythign else than look through them. We're going to class to learn the law--if we get it out of a book that we don't even know covers everythign we'll have to in class, what's the point?

When does everyone plan to arrive in Cambridge? If it all pans out, I'll be there around August 15 for 2 weeks of debauchery before school actually starts.

I'm considering - and I repeat considering - having a party sometime before orientation starts. I'll probably move in the 15th (a Saturday). Party for the 22nd, maybe? Of course, if anyone is there early and living it up in Cambridge, every night could be a party at my place. As long as you don't break my shit.

Is the interest there?

When is move in day?

If shit remain intact, your party be whacked.

If shit remain entire, your party be dire.

So can someone who knows about them explain what E and E and all these other books are? And is anyone doing any prep work this summer? I'm hoping to skim something in August just to get my brain used to functioning again, but I don't know what to read!

P.S. I'm on Ames 3!

August 26th for new students, orientation starts the 28th. Which sucks because the week before school started was always the most fun.

Doing it the 27th would be lame. No one wants to be hung over on day 1 of orientation. Or do they?

Maybe the night of the 26th.

Ugh, that'd be miserable. I'm going to be nervous enough during orientation, the last thing I need is an incessant pounding in my head and only being able to eat saltines...

I'm thinking the night of the 26th. Then the 27th ya'll can spend your hangover setting up your rooms. Excuse to stay indoors. 2 birds 1 stone sorta thing.

Wait, we get Columbus Day off? I've NEVER gotten Columbus Day off. I didn't know people did that anymore...

And while it'll be miserable to carry a filing cabinet up three flights of stairs with a pounding headache, I suppose its preferable to the alternative. :)

The condo association at the place I'm renting from requires you to notify them of big moves (furniture) a week in advance - so they can reserve an elevator for you.

F'shiz.

Are you serious? BOO!

BTW, how amicable would you be to renting out your kitchen on occasion for a poor guy in a Soviet-bloc cell going through cooking withdrawls?

Just hypothetically...

Condo association, huh? Sounds fancy schmancy. Where is this place?

Wow! Great location! Did you get a 1 bedroom? $? Is it a building with a lot of students or mostly owner occupied?

2 bed/2 bath. 1200 sq feet I think. 3rd floor (of 8...I wanted higher but can't be too picky). Balcony. $2400/month ($1200/person). Utils not included. Kind of expensive, but it's big, right next to the law school, and when you compare it with the cost of dorms...

Each condo in the building is privately owned. So while some of the condos are permanent homes to some of the residents, there are people who rent theirs out. The one I'm renting is owned buy a guy who took a job in another state, but rather than sell his condo (he lived in it for 4 years), he kept it as an investment.

FYI, orientation actually starts Thursday, August 27. http://www.law.harvard.edu/current/stud ... ientation/
This may thwart your party plans, or maybe you'll just want to plan accordingly with some pepto bismol, aspirin and saltines.
