That is probably your harvard id number as the user name and your pin as the password - you may not have received those yet if you were just admitted. (I haven't yet figured out the logic behind when to use the .jd12 username and when to use the harvard id)

I know you can find your harvard id number if you log into the financial aid website and look under the messages tab.

You have to register for a pin at http://www.pin.harvard.edu/home.shtml

Does MyPlan even work? Maybe I'm just challenged, but I can't log in to it, even though I've pretty much figured out all the other weird username and password stuff.

ok, I don't have my HUID yet and it isn't in my financial aid "messages" thing, so i'm just going to ask in the admissions office when I go in tomorrow to drop off forms (i'm here looking for apartments).

So then how do I change my email password? What do i use when it prompts me to login again? my .jd12 and LSAC ID as a password works to get me to my inbox, but not to change my password...

Hey folks. I'm moving into an apartment on Mass Ave on the 15th. If you don't mind my hyperactive dog, you'll all be welcome for cocktails shortly after I get moved in.

MyPlan isn't up for this semester yet, apparently. Once it's open for this year, we can use it to see our schedules. I think the website said that it will open again for 2ls and 3ls on the 15th.

We don't get movies at orientation this year... :(

(It's ok, as much as I love movies, I guess I'll live.)

Wait, can we see this year's orientation schedule? I can still only see last year's "example."

Why thank you! Not sure why that wasn't coming up before/whether I'm totally incompetent. :D

Last question (maybe haha)--when do we find out our profs and schedules?

Lol, I have been asking myself this for weeks. I hope soon!

BTW: dumb question, I don't know about all the sections (I'm assuming they are all the same) but my section has readings which we will be discussing "in depth" during our "class meetings" on the first and third day. Is this going to be a "practice being a law student" thing like they did at the ASW or are they actually making our orientation, pared down already as it is, into a convenient way to fit in an extra class period? If its the latter, that's pretty low...

EDIT: I spoke to soon, the schedules are up!

What's this "Faculty Leader Meeting" that takes 2 hours out of my week?

No class before 10:20 on MTW = happy Objection.

No class before 9:50 the whole week = happy Objection.

3 hour break between MT classes = happy Objection

3 classes and a faculty leader meeting on Thursday = sad Objection

I'm wondering if the faculty leader meeting is a) required (as opposed to just being basically optional office hours to visit the section leader during) and b) every week or just a first week thing.

Looked at 1L sections out of curiosity and just gotta say congrats to those in section 2. Warren, Dershowitz, Jackson and Rodriguez (who I sat in on at NYU and really loved) is a pretty outstanding 1L roster. I'm jealous! :)

Next question from the clueless blond (yikes sorry for being such a stereotype):

Are these reading groups things that most people actually do? If so, are the ones for the fall up yet?

Yeah they are (I posted the link the fb group but it got raptured somehow... I blame my on-and-off again internet connection.)

Some of them look pretty interesting...

Second clueless blonde checking in....are you all going to buy the books on your book lists from Amazon or wait til you get to campus? Second, are you buying supplements now as well?

And Section 6's Torts prof says "no book required." Does anyone else have that for their courses?

That sounded pretty cool, though I currently have my eye on the structural reasoning one. It seems like something that the nit-picky me would like. ;)

I have to say I was a bit disappointed that the one on interrogations was about the legality of interrogations rather than actual methods/ways to interrogate.

(...I'm also mildly worried what that says about me that I was that dissapointed. )

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
