If we did, it still wouldn't be as lame as dressing up in formal wear for football games.

Ole Miss is really bad about that too. It must be a southern thing. I just can't imagine few things worse than being in 90 degree heat, drinking, and in a tie and blazer.

haha, you should have seen how many people freaked out when they tried to get people to wear orange t-shirts to games instead of dressing up in order to create a "sea of orange" effect when I was a first-year. You would have thought the administration banned rainbows (the sandals, not the natural phenomena) or something.

People come in formal attire to football games? That's even more ridiculous than playing beer pong with paddles.

+1

I enjoy ping pong and beer pong independently, but I'm worried that my UG years of practicing throwing the ball at the cups will go to waste.

+1. Though the heels make it difficult to navigate stadium seating.

Some law students do it too.

I never heard of this either. I love the stupid things tradition will drive people to do.

Does anyone know if there's a online group for spouses of law students or some kind of email list or something? My wife heard something about this at ASW, but didn't get the details.

Yea, I'd like to know about this as well? Is it just for spouses, or do SOs count?

I think it's an SEC thing, and then somehow UVA students got into doing it as well.

I wouldn't limit it to SEC schools. I went to Georgia Tech, and a tie was pretty much standard attire at football games for the greek community. I think it's just one of those southern traditions...

I dressed up for football games in undergrad. I'll probably do it in law school. It's funny, for me dressing in a t-shirt to a game is as weird as the dressing up is for some of you. Although i don't personally care what others wear, I'm not a snob about it. I just think it's fun.

I should also mention that dresses are just about the best way to sneak a flask into the games too.

dresses for girls are understandable, because it keeps them cool while looking hot. However, guys in belts, bow ties, kakhi pants etc.... not cool, thermally or stylistically
