Re: UVA Class of 2012
I used to have an AZ license like that. Everyone thought it was fake because of the expiration. It was my favorite license ever, especially with the Grand Canyon in the background. Too bad it got stolenJSUVA2012 wrote:My AZ license doesn't need to be renewed until 2050...jdn012 wrote:Wow, that's odd. In my state, the DMV requires everyone to get a new license every year until they turn 18, including a new picture every year. I didn't know that requirements were very different in various states.limegreen wrote:Thanks for all the info.
The only reason I was going to get a new license is because the picture I have now is from when I was 15 (I'll be 23 in June)... so it is really outdated. I also still have the vertical license. Both of those facts combined mean whenever I try to buy anything age restricted or go to the airport my license gets examined for minutes and held up to lights and all kinds of stuff. I guess my point is I'm getting a new license anyway so I didn't know if it was better to put the Cville address or leave my home address. What is everyone else doing?
On that note, yesterday I was shopping with my Mom and she suggested I get something and I said "No, I'm going to wait until I move." The sales associate overheard and asked if I was going to be starting college in the fall. UGH.

Re: UVA Class of 2012
It's more of a 2L/3L thing because they have more times on their hands while 1Ls have briefs due, journal tryouts (and Dillard tryouts) but it's kind of a big deal and plenty of 1Ls go to the parties they can, especially the big ones. The party hosts tend to put a lot of time into it and there's a Facebook group and just general talk about it.showNprove wrote:lolgladiator wrote:Some big dates that I can remember...
Feb Club- February
How seriously is this taken? Are there people who make each party?
Oh, and how is it organized? Through the events e-mails?
For those who don't know, every night in February is a theme party at a different house belonging to 2Ls or 3Ls. It's not something you have to do but basically if you go out any night in February, it's going to be to a Feb Club party. Obviously some people get more into it than others.

Dumb question, but how common is it for someone to attend every single feb club party?gladiator wrote:It's more of a 2L/3L thing because they have more times on their hands while 1Ls have briefs due, journal tryouts (and Dillard tryouts) but it's kind of a big deal and plenty of 1Ls go to the parties they can, especially the big ones. Re: UVA Class of 2012
Each LRW class has 2 Dillard fellows which are basically LRW TAs. They grade the majority of your papers and talk to you about whatever issues you have with LRW. They also serve as one of your three judges during oral arguments. So in February, there's a tryout similar to the journal tryout to become a Dillard fellow. I think you can do it over any 72 hours during a period of time between like 2/1 and 3/10, something like that. 24 spots, not sure how many try out but it's not like journal tryouts where almost everyone does.

Well it shows you're good at legal research and writing and is a somewhat prestigious thing to put on a resume.showNprove wrote:Is there any notable benefit in doing it?gladiator wrote:Each LRW class has 2 Dillard fellows which are basically LRW TAs. Re: UVA Class of 2012
On the website they have $41,800 posted with total COA being ~$60,000. Several posters on here have said that total COA, according to their financial awards, is calculated to be ~$63,000. So I think it's safe to estimate that tuition and fees is now $44,800 given housing, books, and health insurance probably haven't become much more expensive.mijahe wrote:I think out-of-state tuition and fees is projected at $43,800
