Damn, that will get in the way of Feb Club.

But seriously, thanks for posting that info. I'm glad there won't be any Friday afternoon classes in the fall, and it sounds like most of us will avoid it in the Spring if we take the right electives. I have no problem with Friday morning classes, I just like it when the weekend starts at noon or so. It's cool that each section has at least one all-star.
Section A seems stacked with both Coughlin and Abraham.
They also have Greg Mitchell, who I had for Evidence....the man is epicly funny

Thankfully Firefox remembers my passwords, otherwise I'd be screwed.

I couldn't agree more.

Damn, who can I pay to get into that section? (not really, I'm nervous about C&E... Dammit, guys, I'm trying really hard not to be a gunner, I swear)

Not to take away from my other post (see above), but I swear by KeePass. I currently have three passwords, but this thing has 102 of my passwords in it. Get it now.

I agree that the amount of passwords for UVA is a bit crazy. I read somewhere that it's actually less secure when websites or apps make you keep complex passwords (uppercase, lowercase, special symbol, etc). Reason being, a ton of people just end up typing it down in a plain text file on the desktop or something, as opposed to having a simpler one they could just memorize.

Again, KeePass. I have three passwords that I use, but one of them unlocks 102 of my other passwords (which is 72 bits, tyvm). The other 99 are 15 to 20 characters long and have special characters that I don't even know how to type on a keyboard... I'd call that secure. Now if I lose that password or it gets cracked... well, then I screwed.

Okay, since July is right around the corner, who will be moving up soon?

So far I think YCRev and I are the only ones up here.

Not until Aug 1, and that might even be delayed at this point.

Okay this is probably the dumbest question ever, but here goes:

I set up an alias "myname@email.virginia.edu". Where does this email go? I tried sending something to myself but I don't know how to get it. I am logged into my normal "randominitals@virginia.edu". Do they not go to the same place? Am I missing something here?

It all goes to your myname@virginia.edu account, so I'm not sure what the problem is. My first guess would be to make sure that you got the alias right?

I'm not sure that myname@email.virginia.edu is a valid email address. If I remember correctly, my friend set it up like that and it didn't work.

My undergrad did this for matching roommates in the dorm. I got stuck with a heroin-addicted lunatic who stole things from me and who wouldn't get out of bed for 3 days straight and demanded all the lights stay off or else she would be vehemently ill...I'm not sure that us both being a Taurus and liking similar music was the best matching criteria...Let's hope things turn out better for me in law school :D

UVA email - forwarded to - my gmail account

So with my alias, it works

Alias : UVA email - forwarded to - my gmail account

if I send a message from 'my gmail account' to 'alias' then the space-time continum rips open and it never gets back to 'my gmail account', but it works fine if I send messages to 'alias' from other accounts.

UG email - sent to - Alias : UVA email - forwarded to - my gmail account works fine.
i have a very similar setup, with both the UVA email and UVA alias being forwarded to gmail. Everything seems to work fine.

My UG did this. There was a questionnaire of about seven questions that we filled out that asked such soul defining questions as, "What type of music do you like?" followed by four choices.

mine's set up firstname.lastname@email.virginia.edu and it works fine. Btw, I also have both accounts forwarded to my main (non-UVA) email account.

Can we buy books before we know which sections we are in? or do all the professors use the same books?

I don't think we find out which sections we're in until maybe the week before orientation.

edit: which is unfortunate because I'd really like to book my flights

That makes sense. I was sending it from my random@virginia.edu . If I send it from somewhere else it works. WEIRD!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
