Re: UVA Class of 2012
I have 3 out at a time for $16.99 plus unlimited watch instantly access. It bothers my bf sometimes because I'll forget to return a movie for a week. Howevever, I figure if I am watching at least 5/month I am saving myself money rather than renting from Blockbuster or my on-demand from cable. Good lord, this is turning into a Chipotle-esque cult. I like movies, I do; but if I didn't have netflix, I probably wouldn't watch movies except the occasional one on tv. We'll see. If I'm a little bored in my first two weeks in c-ville, I'll probably cave.

Join! Netflix is great. You never realize how many great movies you haven't seen until you start builing your queue. And like crazyinalabama said, you use it just a few times a month and it's easily paid for itself.napolnic wrote:I'm very tempted to sign up for Netflix, but I'm afraid it might take over too much of my life. Re: UVA Class of 2012
I just had a dream where I realized I had accidentally withdrew from all the good schools and chosen to go to Baylor Law, and I didn't realize this until I was on campus and locked inside with everyone else and forced to listen to a sermon that went on and on for hours about how we are only to use our legal knowledge for serving the good of the Lord Jesus Christ and they wouldn't let me out even to go to the bathroom and my bladder ruptured.
I think this is my body's way of saying the UVA thing is too good to be true and I won't fully believe it until I'm there. Come on August 15!

Re: UVA Class of 2012
I was hesitant so I did the two week free trial. It's almost up and I definitely won't be canceling anytime soon. I selected the 8.99 a month plan which is one movie at a time but as many as you can get a month and instant online viewing. I've gotten about 2 a week so it ends up costing about a dollar a movie (and much less if you are better at figuring out mailing schedules than I am or you watch a lot of instant content).iceberger wrote:Join! What a nightmare, indeed
YCrevolution, how big are the balconies at the Jeffersonian? I'm moving there in August and I'm trying to decided if I should buy a chair or two...

I believe you can get them early but I don't recall if there's a certain date that begins. My best recollection is August 1 but that could be way off.YCrevolution wrote:Question: Has anyone already in C'ville gotten their UVA ID yet? The card office website says they'll start giving them out to grad students in August, but then I remember gladiator (and someone else, I think) saying you could get your ID early (of course, early is relative). I could call, but what would be the fun in that?

You can't use the ID for the gym until a certain date (around August 12) anyways, whether you have it or not.gladiator wrote:I believe you can get them early but I don't recall if there's a certain date that begins. That's some BS. I won't be able to work out for 2 weeks.rsr28 wrote:You can't use the ID for the gym until a certain date (around August 12) anyways, whether you have it or not.gladiator wrote:I believe you can get them early but I don't recall if there's a certain date that begins. Re: UVA Class of 2012
Hey there, I was wondering when 1Ls were starting to move down to cville?
I'm living in Ivy, was thinking about moving down there sometime in mid or late July.

Kind of random, but how many copies of our final transcript do we need to send to UVA? Thanks!

Good question. I sent one copy back in March and haven't heard a thing. So maybe I have to send it again?green wrote:Kind of random, but how many copies of our final transcript do we need to send to UVA? Thanks!
I've just set the date for my move - July 27.

I sent in a copy of my transcript months ago, I never heard anything. Should I be worried?

I'm glad for all the transcript discussion, it reminded me to take care of mine. I just discovered that my alma mater now allows you to order official transcripts online
Now I just need to take care of a tetanus shot and health insurance.
