Re: UVA Class of 2012
im bored too and hoping to see some convo in here
option 1:
so funnyish typical story...my roomie is subleasing her room to a "prelaw" 2nd year and he saw my UVA folder. He asks where else did you get in? Knowing he was from NY (said it like 20 times the first time I met him), I said Cornell. He yells, "WHAT why arent you going there?!" I did the nice thing and said that I felt UVA was a better fit and that it is a peer school of Cornell, and arguably much better. I was of course thinking of several not so nice things to say to Mr. NY...what would you have said?
option 2:
anybody know how far you have to live from campus to be allowed to have a parking permit?

Anything on Arlington Blvd or Ivy Gardens is no car. Not sure about Huntington Village. I think those are the only places.

lol guys we're chatty enough to expand this without resorting to spamming our own thread aren't we?
re: cars - my understanding is that arlington blvd / ivy gardens / othercloseplaces can still get permits to park on <s>campus</s> grounds, just not 'close' (wish i had more specifics).

Yeah, I'm sick of all this chit-chat. We've gone over the same things over and over again, and there are so many pages, it's close to impossible to find info for reference.... so I guess there's nothing left to do but ask again and go further into detail.Cavalier wrote:N O N S E N S E !lol guys we're chatty enough to expand this without resorting to spamming our own thread aren't we?

In other news, Aetna has updated their UVA page, for those who are interested in the school provided health care. Details about their insurance package will be available in July.

Georgetown is overrated. It's still a great school, but it seems like people think it's like Harvard. I guess if I wanted to impress non-lawyers I would have gone there.i had a junior here explain their master plan for applying to law school after I said I was going to UVA. basically it boiled down to something like georgetown was their target with like UVA and chicago as safeties. i facepalmed.

Ummm... parking at Jeffersonian (and other places on Arlington) is closer to the law school than pretty much all campus parking except the parking immediately surrounding the law school.disco_barred wrote:lol guys we're chatty enough to expand this without resorting to spamming our own thread aren't we?

Re: UVA Class of 2012
I would SERIOUSLY consider looking at Anthem insurance plans before purchasing the student health plan. There are advantages and disadvantages to both Anthem and the UVA Aetna UVA plan, but overall the Anthem plans are all much cheaper.geoffree wrote:That's news to me.disco_barred wrote: re: cars - my understanding is that arlington blvd / ivy gardens / othercloseplaces can still get permits to park on <s>campus</s> grounds, just not 'close' (wish i had more specifics).
