Hmmm... I was looking at August tickets. Maybe during May or June the August prices will become reasonable. Northwest has flights from Seattle > Detroit > Charlottesville, which is probably my best option.

I'll be at UVA in the fall. Just have to submit my deposit and withdraw all my other applications.
Damn this feels good to be done with this whole process.

I have a car, and there's no way I'd move to Cville without taking it anyway, so kind of a moot point, but I'll agree to disagree like crazyinalabama.legends159 wrote: but u need a car to get from there to the law school no?

Nice. I think everyone on this site should add a disclaimer.

Glad to see so many Cougars are upset about Tony Bennett leaving for UVA.

Anybody know of a cheaper way to move all my shit from San Diego to Charlottesville other than getting a Budget rental truck?

I looked into the PODS moving thing and it would cost $2,900 to move a POD from Phoenix to Charlottesville. I could probably buy all new stuff for less than that.

A 16' long Penske truck rental will only cost you $1313 from San Diego to Charlottesville for 9 days!JSUVA2012 wrote:<----would also like to know.CE2JD wrote:Anybody know of a cheaper way to move all my shit from San Diego to Charlottesville other than getting a Budget rental truck?

This is the cheapest I've been able to find so far. I'm planning on driving all of my shit out myself because I'm a cheap bastard. My bed and other furniture would probably total about $6000, so I think it's worth it for me to relocate instead of buying new crappy stuff.

Re: UVA Class of 2012
I'm only moving from a few hours away but I haven't figured out what I'm going to do yet either. I'm planning on buying a new living room set and having it delivered straight to my apartment, but I have a bedroom set and a dining room table I would like to bring with me. I'm going to move my clothes and all that myself in my car because I don't trust anyone with them.
A family friend who has a fleet of trucks for his company has offered whatever I need but I feel kind of uncomfortable with that; I think I would prefer to use professionals that can be held responsible if something gets messed up and that will operate on my time schedule rather than the other way around.

smart man. Plus you won't have the lingering obligation of repaying them somehow. Money is usually the easiest way of repayment.limegreen wrote:I'm only moving from a few hours away but I haven't figured out what I'm going to do yet either. Re: UVA Class of 2012
I bought all new shiz . . . last year when I moved here. It was gonna be about $1600 to move all my shit from Chicago to C-Ville . . . went to Ikea, got all new bedroom furniture, got a desk from office depot, etc. saved hundreds of dollars
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
