Yeah well we don't have thunderbird flyovers everyday, so don't get used to it :p.... Anyway, I'd probably have gone to the bar thing tonight if I wasn't currently in Wisconsin. Oh well.

If they operate like last year, your schedule will be the same (time wise) no matter what section you're in. What classes you take might differ though.Elms wrote:Does anyone know offhand when we get our section/class/professor assignments? I'm antsy to know what my schedule is going to be.

I think the idea is that on, say, Tuesday, all 1Ls have class from 10:00 to 11:30, and then from 1:00 to 2:30. But while I might be in Section 1 and have Criminal Law followed by Torts, you might be in Section 2 and have Civil Procedure and Property. I believe that last year 1Ls had 3 one hour courses on M/W/F, and 2 one and a half hour classes on Tues/Thurs.
I hope that helps

So: RCN or AT&T for internet in McClurg?

Although I would prefer to go with AT&T, I'll go with RCN so that I can bundle internet and cable. I will miss Verizon Fios (and Direct TV for Sunday football).rayiner wrote:So: RCN or AT&T for internet in McClurg?

I don't like that the bundled rates are promo offers that expire in six months...chadwick218 wrote:Although I would prefer to go with AT&T, I'll go with RCN so that I can bundle internet and cable. I found RCN to be a lot cheaper. My internet is only like $17 a month, and the speed is fine.

What's "K's"? And also, thanks for the schedule clarification tome and earlcat! That makes a ton more sense...TTT-LS wrote:RCN.rayiner wrote:So: RCN or AT&T for internet in McClurg?
As for class schedules, they're up in CAESAR (http://www.northwestern.edu/caesar/), though you prob. won't see section assignments in there for a few more days. But they *will* be available before orientation, if past experience is any guide. Checking blackboard (https://courses.northwestern.edu/webapps/login/) would be a good idea too, as that's how people found out my 1L year. You use your NetID and password to login to both.
Here's some of the schedule data from CAESAR:
Section 1 Civil Procedure, Redish,Martin H
2:35PM 3:30PM Mon Tue Wed RUBLOFF 180
Section 2 Civil Procedure, Allen,Ronald J
8:45AM 9:40AM Mon Tue Wed RUBLOFF 175
Section 3 Civil Procedure, Huestis,Lisa A
2:35PM 3:30PM Mon Tue Wed McCormick 195
Section 4 Civil Procedure, Hoskins,Richard J
2:35PM 3:30PM Mon Tue Wed RUBLOFF 140
It looks like everyone will have civ pro and K's, with the other two being filled by a bizarre mix of crim, conlaw, torts, and property (with the ones you don't take in the fall coming in the spring).

I think I answered my own question... contracts, right? But why is it called "K's"? When I hear "K's" I think of strikeouts in baseball...

Anyone doing that week-long NU Law prep class? I rolled up to get my Wildcard today because I was in the area, and there were tons of people there. If any of you are in it, please let us know if they tell you anything that is non-obvious.
